Subject  :  Alternative to Parse Caseless?

Hi all, I've been using Parse Caseless in a lot of my REXX code, but am noticing that using ObjectRexx is painfully slow when creating and manipulating large stem arrays. I'm planning on switching back to Classic REXX as it's performance is near instantaneous running the same code (minus the Parse Caseless statement), but need to find a substitution for Parse Caseless that will work in Classic REXX.

Does anyone have any ideas or know of a library that would work?

I'm thinking that Parse Caseless is in OREXX.EXE - is it possible to use OREXX.EXE with the Classic REXX DLLs to preserve that functionality while relying on Classic REXX's handling of stem arrays?

Thanks in advance,
Robert

Robert,

Have you tried to CALL a classic REXX program from OREXX? REXX would use PARSE UPPER or PARSE LOWER instead of CASELESS.
