1. Backup Solution for OS/2

I am in the midst of trying to find a backup solution for OS/2. I have several computers that run voicemail systems and use OS/2 as their operating systems. I need to purchase hardware and software to allow me to carry a drive around and plug it in to a system to back it up. This could be either a ZIP or Tape device.

I have done some digging and only found two software packages that will do a backup, one of which only supports devices that can be specified as a drive letter, the other only supports tape devices.

As far as hardware goes, iomega has pretty much dropped OS/2 support for new devices.

Can anyone give me some suggestions for my problem, or point me in the right direction for more information?

Thanks,

alphajoe

Regarding software to use I would suggest PC-Bax from UK based Cristie. Their software is really small and supports a number of different OS including OS2 as well as a high range of hardware. Even if you don't have a backup tape solutions you can use the Virtual Tape feature and make backup to a lan server or a local drive (this file can then be burned to CD and used together with a bootable CD with PC-BAX).

For more information check out:

I use BackAgain 2000 to backup my personal OS/2 PC and the OS/2 Server at work. As PC-Bax of Christie it is available on both OS/2 and Windows.
You can find more information on the following URL

Don't know if You used or tried out PC-Bax and if you're able to compare the two? How well does BackAgain works from command line?
