At WarpStock Windsor Ontario Canada, there was mentioned a wifi device that connects to the ethernet port and is powered by the USB port. I had the names of the two devices mentioned but misplaced the list. Does anyone know the make and model of the devices? They are small and portable. I think one was by D-Link. There were two others.

D-link does make one - model: DWL-G730AP (I have it and it works
just fine). Asus makes another very similar device, I recall it being
reviewed in VOICE (I believe). Don't know of any others...

Thank you for the information. Instead of trying to get the pccard wifi card to work, I will try one of these ethernet wifi devices.

The D-Link sounds interesting--and the price is right. I drive truck for a living and need to connect to the internet while sitting in my truck at a truckstop.
This item will work from my truck?
Is there anything else I need to know about connecting from
my truck without being hardwired to the internet?

Thanks in advance for your answers

Dennis

I use the Buffalo "High Power Wireless Ethernet Converter" WLI-TX4-G54HP. It runs at G speeds, so it is pretty decent. I have one downstairs from the DSL wireless router. It was easier than running ethernet and setup was a snap.
