I saw an item on the Lenovo site that made me  believe you could get other travelstars to avoid the boot error message. Just making a quick inquiry before the process begins. Searched this site without results, so I'm guessing there is a fatal condition that keeps the patch from being generally usable or usable at all. Steve

Yes, I have such experience on some of the T?? line.

In the particular case I have experience with:
- A system BIOS update does not remove the boot error - it just allows it to boot past it (BIOS setting)
- A hard drive BIOS update will prevent the boot error entirely, but only some few specific drives are supported.

Does that answer the question you were asking? If not, let us know.

Best,
Robert
