Malmö, 1 December 2007: The board of the Swedish OS2 User Group has decided to change its name to OS2 World Foundation in order to formalise the organisation’s scope as well as become better positioned to support the international community, according to an announcement from Kim Haverblad, founder and webmaster of the Internet site, OS2 World.Com. The Swedish OS2 User Group was registered as a society in November 1991. During the last 5 years, it has been active and financially supported the Internet site, OS2 World.Com. Therefore, its founders are convinced that it is most natural that these two communities should join and, furthermore, be able to better support the OS2 community by forming the new OS2 World Foundation. The board said that it believes that national boundaries are obsolete due to the internationalization that has resulted from utilisation of the Internet. It has therefore chosen to place its entire efforts into online activities of OS2 World.Com, such such features as:
