Ecuador's Earthquake
« on: April 18, 2016, 05:56:35 pm »
Hi

Several people contacted me to know how is everything arround here. I just want to tell you that I'm fine and my family is alright here. Here in Quito it was scary but it did't produce any major damage. I was at the movies when it happened and we evacuated the place without problems.

The earthquake hit the north-cost side of Ecuador satudary night and it was terrible there. There had been reported 250 deaths and more than a 1000 injured for the moment. It has been very sad days for the country since Saturday but ecuadorians has show a great will of helping the injured zones.

The injured zone are still in emergency and there are people looking for their relatives.
- Rescue teams are working on some of the zones.
- Skype calls to Ecuador are free.
- Google started his Person Finder for Ecuador's earthqueake.
- People are donating food and other supplies for the injured zones.

Regards

Hi.

There was some aftershocks this early mourning, but everything is ok in Quito.

Just to help in some way I had donated some food and medicine to be sent to the damaged cities and I'm following on twitter the missing persons #DesaparecidosEC and help organize the information the Person Finder database.
https://google.org/personfinder/2016-ecuador-earthquake/

It is not much, but at least having an organized database help people find each other and the autorities to have pictures of missing people.

Sorry guys but it so sad the news here.
It did not happened on my city but this is the only thing we talk about here in Ecuador.

The only thing I can do to feel a little bit better is helping organizing and crossing information for the missing people database.

It seems that the missing people rate is starting to go down and many people had been able to contact the missing ones, which it is at least good.

Hi Guzzi.

I think that this article from CNN has good ways to donate.

From what I saw UNICEF has way of accepting PayPal and other credit cards.
