Razor-qt is an advanced, easy-to-use, and fast desktop environment based on Qt technologies. It has been tailored for users who value simplicity, speed, and an intuitive interface. Unlike most desktop environments, Razor-qt also works fine with weak machines.
While still a new project, Razor-qt already contains the key DE components:
Panel
Desktop
Application launcher
Settings center
Sessions

One major advantage I can to having a desktop environment made entirely from Qt is that you could run it directly on your frame buffer from your video card. This means no more Xorg or X windows.
I tested this theory with some Qt development of my own. I was able to compile a full fledge Qt application and run it without Xorg or X Windows. I was able to use my mouse like normal use the standard gpm mouse system. The application ran really smooth considering the system was a 500mhz AMD Geode with only 512 mb of ram and 32mb of video.
