I'm waking this thread up from a long time ago. The web page for rdesktop is still good. Here is a google translation of it:

There is a program Rdesktop. And it is designed to connect to machines running different versions of Windows. That is, the world's Linux / Unix, it runs under X different versions. Is OS / 2. And network administrators working in an environment OS / 2, also it's fun poupravlyat machines that are running Windows. But do not want to move, or the Linux / Unix, and even less on Windows.

For these administrators (Lenya find and compile X for its video card), need Rdesktop, working directly on the desktop, Presentation Manager in OS / 2.

I had to find the SDL library and rewrite Rdesktop c usage. X Now we do not need :-)

Version 8 March, for our favorite women.  1: Unzip and use for other purposes. While the alpha 1:

Version 10 March.  '-a' parameter - color depth works now fine for WinXP 'servers'. Needed sdl-1.2.10-20070121 libs supplied. Something fixed: '-a' parameter - color depth works now fine for WinXP 'servers'. Needed sdl-1.2.10-20070121 libs supplied. Unpack and use. Now at alpha 2 . Unpack and use. Now at alpha 2.

A discussion about Rdesktop/SDL version has been opened, near http://www.project2.mhost.ru/list.php?

I have tried rdesktop, and it can log into Windows 2003 Server. I'm not much of a Windows user, so I can't tell if everything works, but for anyone searching for rdesktop on OS/2 that works with current Windows, this may be it.
