RThe article seems to have an inaccuracy. It is stated in the article that "ecomstation, the Dutch company" etc. while the link is to ecomstation.ru, which is a Russian reseller of ecomstation and independent software developer.

Bootable USB flash disk
From: Eugene Gorbunoff <>
Source: ecomstation.ru

One more attempt to start project "Bootable OS/2 USB flash disk".
http://ecomstation.ru/usbboot (http://ecomstation.ru/usbboot)

Main purpose of the project - to create repair USB flash disk.

The image of flash disk is legal because doesn't include some components.

We accept fixes and extensions from users.

Hi All

Sometime in the past I did, successfully, try a bootable USB flash drive image from somewhere... Looking through my backups I think it was this:-

ftp://os4.su/BootUSB512/BootFlash512.rar

or maybe this

ftp://ftp.os4.su/BootUSB512/BootFlash512.7z

I think the above are the same file in a different package; both seem to need passwords now though.

I suspect I found the above by "Googling" for "os/2 bootable usb" or similar but do not seem to be able to find anything about the above files using Google at the moment...

I am not sure if this was from the same people who produce the os4 kernel but think it was.

Ah Ha!  Several pages into my google I find this package has been mentioned on os2world before http://www.os2world.com/oldforum/index.php?topic=4986.15;wap2

The main point is that it is possible to boot from usb flash drive so maybe we should investigate how the above package was put together to see if it is possible to build a "legal" version.

Regards

Pete

I haven't tried it yet, but it should be possible to use the QSINIT package to make OS/2 bootable from a USB stick.
