General Discussion / Thunderbird e-mail client
« on: August 27, 2020, 09:04:38 pm »
Does anyone know how to access a GMAIL IMAP account with the last version of Mozilla Thunderbird ?

My gmail account is set up with Security -> Third-party apps with account access -> Mozilla Thunderbird Email has access to Gmail

Every time I try to access a "New sign-in on Unknown OS" appears in "Recent security activity" and nothing that is on the IMAP server is downloaded.

I have 2-Step Verification enabled but Thunderbird works in Windows and Linux without issues. Is possible make it work?

Multimedia / Audigy 2 ZS Notebook
« on: August 22, 2020, 06:17:43 pm »
Althougt my Lenovo Thinkpad T61 has PCMCIA interface (based in Ricoh RL5C746) supported by OS/2 (ArcaOS 5.0.5) with Intel PCIC driver, I never tried anything as I didn't have any PCMCIA card to test. Now I get a Creative Audigy 2 ZS Notebook and I decided to test.

With the card plugged, there are no errors advices and I can see that the system identifies a card plugged, but has no idea that is a sound card. The Plug-in application for pcmcia identifies as a "memory card ready to use" ?

As with linux (Ubuntu 12.10-32bit- Alsa 1.0.24 based -Live CD) this card works whithout problems, I am thinking if its about OS/2 pcmcia driver capabilities or Uniaud.

Multimedia / Multi-Channel Surround Sound Systems
« on: August 11, 2020, 08:56:15 pm »
Uniaud32.sys (as ALSA) has controls related to multi-channel surround systems. I have already tested with  ftp://ftp.netlabs.org/pub/uniaud/old/multtest.zip some real (hardware) multichannel sound cards (4.1, 5.1) like Sound Blaster Live 5.1, Turtle Beach Santa Cruz and onboard interfaces like Realtek HD Audio in Asus M3A78-EM motherboard.

My question here is about these "pseudo" multi-channel onboard audio interfaces, like Realtek HD Audio, VIA Tech HD Audio, etc., announced to be 4.1,5.1, etc. surround channels capable, where software is used to redirect back panel microphone and line-in connectors as the additional audio channels output.

Are there any application or means to use this feature in OS/2 or it is completelly useless?

Multimedia / CD Audio Player

Anybody know why CD Audio player ( new and classic too) go crazy, jumping from track to track and playing nothing at all. This happens with ArcaOS and with eCS 2.1. Drive (hardware) is working ok in Windows and Linux. My pc has IDE and SATA ports and I tested with an IDE drive and a SATA drive. Same result!

Applications / CUPS - foo2hbpl2
« on: October 03, 2018, 03:12:26 pm »
Asking all people here again. Any chance to get foo2hbpl2 in OS/2 CUPS? Any chance to have  Xerox Workcentre 6015NI printing from OS/2? Even Minolta Magicolor was included. Why not HBPL printers supported by foo2hbpl2?

Applications / eCups - foo2hbpl
« on: June 12, 2015, 02:06:19 am »
Have we any news on the port of this package -  http://foo2hbpl.rkkda.com/ ? My Xerox WorkCentre 6015 NI printer and others printers will be supported by eCups  someday? Sometime ago Paul  (Smedley) said to me that this port should not be too difficult to do.  I am sure that many of us will be happy with this port and even would like to collaborate  :)

Anyway for now my solution for printing is Google Cloud Printer via FF. My print job goes a long way to my 6015 at my side, but prints  :)

Hardware / ATI Radeon 9800 XT and DOS Window Session/Win-OS2 seamless
« on: July 27, 2014, 03:52:34 pm »
I'm looking for a solution to get DOS session (Window) - Win-OS2 (Window) with this video board. For some reason VSVGA.SYS in eCS2.2 B and in earlier versions, doesn't work with this ATI (based in R360 chipset). I've already have tried things like adding the switch /int10textgrfxsafe to VSVGA.SYS in CONFIG.SYS and rebooting, but I had the same DOS window with a cursor blinking and nothnig more. Anyone knows a solution for this?

Thanks.

Hardware / Xerox WorkCentre 6015 NI and eCups
« on: July 24, 2014, 04:08:17 am »
Does the latest packages availble for cups printing system provide support for this printer? Cups packages from more recent linux distros has foo2hbpl ( http://foo2hbpl.rkkda.com/) providing good printing support for 6015 NI. In fact, this is an option for the bugged (color) Xerox cups driver Xerox-WorkCentre-6015B_6015N_6015NI-1.0-28.i586.rpm.

Thanks for any help.
