What did not work (to do list):
1024x900 maximum resolution with Panorama driver (device capable of 1440x900).
Fingerprint reader not functional.
USB flash storage not ejecting properly. Gives message: "Forced Removal -- Possible data loss"
Wireless Bluetooth 2.0

Boot time: 33 seconds

My review:
At Home: perfect :)
At work: needs a workaround to use with newest server equipment.
This laptop weighs 5 pounds but will rest nicely on a rack wall mount or cabinet. For the Tower configuration, I would place it on a sturdy table above the server unit (placing the tower in a well ventilated space).
The mid-2008 Thinkpad T400 is an ideal computer for Warp Server for eBusiness and eComstation. It is a good choice for those who need a tool to monitor servers that use Penryn-WM and Wolfdale-DP class 45nm microprocessors. The relatively long wavelength places some limitations on its usage with today’s high-end devices with 14nm technology but there are workarounds. As a basic maintenance and monitoring tool, the T400 is easy and effective. In addition, the low price makes it a very good device for home or small office use. There are many available to buy used and refurbished. As an everyday laptop, I feel it is a bit too heavy at 5 pounds. The battery protrudes from the rear of the chassis The use of plastic parts makes it feel flimsy, but it is in fact, very durable. I am using CAT 5 cables with a 100Mbips powered ethernet

Changed to the SNAP driver. Having better results now.
I was able to get a resolution of 1280x800 with SNAP (and this is a little better). Windows 10 Home also struggled with getting the 1440x900 resolution. So I was expecting something.
Have you tried to add custom resolutions with SNAP ?
It's in the Readme file (don't remember but something like):
Gamode add 1440 900 32

I know next to nothing about Lenovo laptops so thought I'd try and find specs to see why SNAP and Panaroma both fail to work at 1440x900.

Seems there are 2 screen options: 1280x800 and 1440x900
Could your laptop have the 1280x800 screen? - seems to fit in with what worked with SNAP.
If the screen is 1440x900 open a command line window in [BootDrive]:\SNAP to run gamode and add the correct mode.

Enter Custom Refresh Rate: 32
I never would test any refresh rate other than 60Hz with LCDs. If 60Hz does not work no other refresh rate will work anyway.

Gives: Failed to add mode 1440 x 900 x 32!
I did try some new ones that were between the ranges of 640x480x32 and 1280x800x32 and they worked well. Updated hardware and FRU numbers.
