Programming / Re: Bigicons

I decided to make separate System Setup Folder  options icons.  That way if you do not like the default set, you just unzip the theme you want to try to a temporary directory and then copy them over the icons in the theme folder you want changed.  If you don't like, just repeat with a different theme set.  These packages also contain icon corrects for the icons used in the setup folder.

Always restart the desktop after an icon(s) change.

Hi David,
I sent you a PM.

I do not see it.  Did you send it to

dwgras at swbell dot net

under you os2world pm

I hate to confess to my ignorance.  I did not know this existed.  As a result, I never replied to other messages.

I tried HandymanFTP beta 3.  So far I like it.  I did not like its icon so I made me a PNG for it.

A new pmdll.

I did not realize we have had that may posts, which I think is a good thing.  The community has needed to become more active.

Hi Steven

It has been a long time.   I am glad to see you read and respond to this forum.  It's always best never to assume anything.  Your and Rich are like the Guru's of the ArcaOS community.  Hope you are doing well.

Martin, what might be good for some programs is to save its html page and add it to the program's zip.  I just did it for API trace and uploaded the new zip file.  The html page contains a lot of useful info.

By the way Martin, was the bigicons topic deleted?   I had to use Davids Doodles to upload the new blue theme.

yes, you can.

On my system, I use the trashcan for deleting wps objects.  For all file deletion, I use FM/2 for deleting files and directories.  Its default is to bypass the trashcan.  I can use it to do WPS delete, but never have.

Thanks! His utility has always been hard to find.

Tom, can you upload the cleanini package?  I lost my copy.

Also, lost software.  No longer at hobbes and and other sites.

OS/2 API Trace is a freeware application written by an IBM software engineer with extensive experience in OS/2 kernel and Presentation Manager development.

OS/2 API Trace allows you to trace the 16-bit and 32-bit OS/2 APIs used by any application running on any 32-bit version of OS/2 (2.0 or later) without requiring the application's source code or requiring the application to be recompiled/relinked. Simply enable the application for tracing and run it, and the OS/2 API calls (and optionally their parameters) made by the application are logged to a text file that is already formatted and in English. OS/2 API Trace also allows tracing to be customized, controlled, and summarized.

Found at site above, but for how much longer.

Hi all, I'm finding this issue: my previous DFSee installation was the evaluation one, now asking for a valid key to run. I've found on the eCSoft/2 pages this version defined free-open source and installed it replacing the expired one, providing its uninstallation before.
In the new situation, running the object DFSOS2 returns an error window in the middle of a command-prompt window (see image). Also trying to start the RUN DFSee object returns same error alert, not specifying anything else than "IBMS506$ device does not recognize the command", which I cannot translate in something useful.
Is anyone aware of what can be done to run this DFSee ?
Thank you much

I downloaded my copy from the ARCA NOAE.  It was listed as sponser and support software.  I made a donation, downloaded and installed. Everything works great. I noticed it since has been removed.

Personally, I like the trashcan.  For those that don't want to use the trashcan, right click to open its properties page

Then on the first tab which is labeled "Trash can", check "Always delete immediately (never use trashcan)

XWorkplace will perform all delete operations directly, without moving the objects into the trash can first.

You might try installing an archive.  Is you haven't made any archives, your only archive will be the original after installing ArcaOS.

Open desktop properties and select the archives tab and check the

Recovery choices  > Check "display at each system startup", close and reboot.

Select the archive at bootup.  This should restore it to the original install if you don't have any other archives.

Another option to try is to download the WPTools to a directory, unzip,  and at an ArcaOS prompt, type

Checkini /C

I usually accept the default prompts
