Hardware / Re: New pc
« on: April 12, 2020, 10:44:07 pm »
lsusb gives no output. pci.exe output attached.

There is 8 GB of memory installed
Mem /v gives:
Total physical memory:      6.114 MB
Accessible to system:       1.519 MB
Additional (PAE) memory:    4.595 MB

Resident memory:              160 MB
Available virtual memory:     866 MB

Doc says multiple monitors are possible.  But afak panorama doesn't support that. System has DVI, VGA and DVI ports, one of each.

Available process memory:
  Private low memory:         330 MB
  Private high memory:        896 MB
  Shared low memory:          227 MB
  Shared high memory:         402 MB

Hardware / New PC - Gigabyte B450M S2H / Ryzen 3 3200 G
« on: April 11, 2020, 01:42:52 am »
Took the plunge (had a towel ready), after reading Ivans post I decided to get an AMD based machine. Gigabyte B450M S2H mainboard with a Ryzen 3 3200 G processor. Installing arcaos latest beta went smoothly, using PS2 keyboard and mouse (both had been lying in the parts bin for over 10 years). I haven't tested everything yet. Network works, sound driver loads but no speakers connected yet, so not sure it works. USB didn't install, because the board has only XHCD hardware. After installing the beta available to testers USB works, although I have only tried reading, not writing to MSD. USB keyboard and mouse work. Both (different models) Samsung 1 TB SSD's gave problems, as they did in another machine. Replaced one with a Western Digital one I bought, and that one does function well. Seems at least some Samsung SSD's and our AHCI driver are a bad combination. Will create a ticket for that at a later date. Panorama works well, came up in the right resolution.  Arcamapper did not report my complete nethood, but using ip address it could connect. Already did away with it, because I installed the full Netdrive package. So far, this has been a good experience. The only problem is, not more then 1.556.064 K physical memory available. Free shared memory however is 303 M, which is more than on my other machine. Don't expect it to be a problem, but time will tell. Next step is ordering another WD SSD and completely implement my current system on the new one. After that, decommission the old one. Anyone interested in a Core2Quad Asus P5Q deluxe?

That is a package with the source code included, so it's not the same as the rpm one, that has only binaries.

Version 0.0.3 installed ok and worked. Version 0.0.6 traps the system with a trap 0003 in usbresmg. First time it did install over 0.0.3 but opening it resulted in the trap and after rebooting the system trapped again. Booted to command prompt and deleted hwexp.dll. Rebooted to wps and uninstalled using warpin. Installed again. This time the trap already occurred during installation.

Thanks Guzzi. This is one of my builds? If so, could you test with the last Bitwise release? Also could you look in popuplog.os2 for any crashes?

Yes, your build firefox-45.9.0.en-US.os2-Pentium-m.zip packed 23-12-18. No corresponding crashes in popuplog.

Just before reading this thread I spent half an hour trying to figure out how to downgrade NSS. The version in the exp repo leads to traps in firefox 45,9,0 too. This is how I downgraded:
From the directory where the packages are located (here F:\var\cache\yum\netlabs-rel\packages\) execute:
rpm -Uvh nss-3.23.0-4.oc00.i686.rpm nss-util-3.23.0-4.oc00.i686.rpm nss-softokn-3.23.0-4.oc00.i686.rpm nss-softokn-freebl-3.23.0-4.oc00.i686.rpm  --oldpackage
why not reporting possible traps in our github repos? As when we see no reports we move it to netlabs rel repo. And to be honest on my system and the testers system it seems stable and connects to all sites, but this might be luck. I don't know.

just to say it once again: no report on github or even netlabs trac there will be no fix.

regards
Silvan

The reason I did not report it is because it was in the experimental repo. I assumed it is work in progress and not supposed to be bug free. Didn't want to clutter up the github repo wirh unnecessary bug reports, Ticket made.

Hello
I have been testing both the QT5 demonstration applications and the covers in this thread. The problem you comment in the menus doesn't come out to me.
But in the qphpedit.exe application, when I say *save us*, I get an error c00000005.
With pamorama when I change the colors to 256 the applications of qt5 fail and those of qt4 do not fail

If others see this as well do report this on github.

Dmitry is currently porting the webengine part of QT5. Sponsoring is still needed. Voice is sponsoring as much as possible but our funds are depleting too. We're on schedule with development and per 1-10-2019, 10-1-2019 for our American friends, only at 70% of the amount needed.

Go to https://github.com/bitwiseworks to see the current status of the different QT5 modules.
