Hacking the environment to use your GCC is the easy part :)
Be aware that it won't build with newer then GCC 10.x IIRC due to C++ changes in the compiler, that's true on all platforms.

Well first I see these that need fixed, fixed exports below,
Code: [Select]
export LD=emxomfld
export AR=emxomfar
export RANLIB=echo
The PATH is pretty short too, should have /@unixroot/usr/libexec/bin in the front. They're programs that also have OS/2 equivalents. You still might need something else on the PATH, might be best to just drop it.
You're also missing export MAKESHELL
But the real problem is that our libc is lacking in term support, which is why you're having problems.

BTW, there is also an i686 build of Firefox at https://mozilla-os2.sourceforge.io/

it's not that hard to get it to build, assuming you're using RPM/YUM. For your environment, Python might be a problem. It creates a virtual environment to install all the Python packages it uses. Bitwise had instructions on Github, not quite how I do it but a good list of the dependencies.
I'll revisit the build and catch the actual error and open an issue. Also need to double check that I've pushed all my commits, takes forever to do a commit due to the couple of GB of source.

Hi Neil, they're built with the system GCC 9.2.0, Paul's latest GCC builds can't link xul.dll.
These are just i686 builds of the same code as the P4 builds though I did fix a packaging error where some XQS files weren't installed.
They should have the usual requirements and should work basically the same with i686 or P4 prerequisites.
I am interested in if they work on systems without SSE2 (Pentium III or earlier or old Athlons), a previous i686 build for some reason crashed for someone with a SSE2 error, which shouldn't happen

You will never know how much of system memory (RAM) is mapped below the 4 GB physical address line.

Booting in UEFI mode, you will know how much memory is mapped below 4GB, though there is sometimes problems with fragmentation and not being able to use it all. One problem with the newest systems is starting to be having the video buffer mapped above 4 GB, which makes the system unusable to OS/2.
I used a system with 1.5 GB's of ram at one point, no SSD or ram disk and it wasn't too bad. Generally the stuff that got swapped out wasn't used much and it was only things like linking xul.dll that brought the system to its knees. Once ran out of memory and swap so learned not to have SeaMonkey running when building Mozilla. Swap file has a 2 GB limit, I guess due to signed ints.

Hi Mark, actually had 2 days in a row without rain, nice.
You're testing guide is fairly good, I did get lost in editing xeventsF1d.cmd, wasn't sure how to update it when it came to pressing buttons etc. I actually got 2 lines of output each time I did something, then something else came up and I got distracted. Other then that, it is pretty good.
Thanks

Well did step one, installing usbecd.sys and that killed my cheap non-conformant mouse, vender ID is zero on the mouse.
Now back to the PDF and figure out the parameters to usbecd.sys

Thank you Andreus, That got it for me , I'm now back to crappy MP3 & MP3 sound, but guess I have to live with it.

Hey Dave, I don't understand your post. Are you saying the SB16PNP should have worked? If so I must have missed something ?

Thanks  klipp

Sure, why not? It's a 16 bit sound card unlike the original SB so should work fine. You might need "SET KAI_AUTOMODE=DART" without the quotes in your environment for programs using libkai and of course the correct driver, seems there were various ones for the SB16.

Lots more options such as seamonkey -compose to compose a message.
SeaMonkey -help or better as the help has grown,  seamonkey -help 2>&1 | tee sm_help.txt will display all the options or write them to sm_help.txt

The gamepad is,
Code: [Select]
Device 046D:C216 (HID) LS Logitech, Inc. F310 Gamepad [DirectInput which I guess needs a different usbecd.sys setting then any listed.

I'm sorry KeePassXC can not be compiled on our systems. (looking at the build instructions, I don't actually see Ruby, but I also don't know much about porting)

First part of Build Dependencies from https://github.com/keepassxreboot/keepassxc/blob/develop/INSTALL.md

Code: [Select]
The following tools must exist within your PATH:

    make
    cmake (>= 3.3.0)
    g++ (>= 4.7) or clang++ (>= 6.0)
    asciidoctor (>= 2.0)

The asciidoctor is a Ruby script

About to test the latest USB stack which has some HID changes and it occurred to me that joystick support should be tested.
So how should I test? eg what to install and run. I should test then update the drivers and retest.

Warp 3 and/or Warp 4 came with a database of DOS games, and maybe other DOS programs so that you could install a DOS game and get a correctly setup program object. For example, I remember Simcity 2000 wouldn't run in a VDM, install it properly and it got an undocumented parameter, /mem(something, I forget) and it ran fine.
Just can't remember much about it now, anyone else?
