Applications / Re: CUPS - Support Printer List
« on: January 04, 2018, 08:39:11 pm »
I chose HP Color LaserJet 3700 PS for my HP M477dfw, prints fine, and duplex works.
When you create the printer object just choose to install driver shipped with ArcaOS/eCS and you will get a list of printers.
In my case the HP 3700 PS works fine, but you may have to try another PS for your printer.

If you have a ppd-file for the printer you could also import it.
You can find some good info/tools at http://www.altsan.org/os2/printing/

HP Color Laser Jet Pro M477fdw works with a pscript driver supplied with ArcaOS/eCS.
(For scanning, I either scan to e-mail or to a networkfolder).

I set up newer HP-lasers to use SLPR and one of the PS3 drivers supplied with eCS/AOS.
(Haven't had the need to try Cups yet.)
No experience with Brother but it seems to support PostScript3.

Hi Roberto,

Double cliking the dbe-file results in a crash while opening it from DBE works.
Something seems to be wrong with the form FMENU2, it won't open in design mode.

The form TEST works and the button "CRASH?" sometimes brings up the form "Libros a prelegalizar" and sometimes it crashes.
(No difference if Firefox or Seamonkey is running or not.)

Created a new app and it now works. (Didn't have to reinstall DBE.)

Thanks a lot!

For testing purposes I created tables/fields/values to be used with your code. When/if I get it to work I will of course
do the necessary adjustments. Somehow I now get the macro to run without an error but it does not insert the values to the table.
Makes me wonder if the crashes I had has caused some unwanted changes somewhere, think I'll reinstall DBE and make a new app.

I created the tables and used exactly the same code as you posted, (copy&paste).

CAD='INSERT INTO TPSUFORPRINT (LOSVAL,ACT3, ACT1, CL10, ORDEN, ACL5) SELECT',
   '  '"'"LOSVALCAL"'"' AS VAL7, '"'"ACT3R"'"' AS VAL1, '"'"ACT1R"'"' AS VAL2, '"'"ACT3R"'"' AS VAL3, 1 AS VAL4, '"'"ACT1R"'"' AS VAL5 FROM CATALIZA'
RC=DBERUNSQL(CAD)

The sum I get from a form so I'm not sure what you mean with the first example.

DBE crashes when running the second example, although when running it as "Single step" all seems fine until it actually runs RC=DBERUNSQL(CAD).

I'm trying to create a new row/record.
(For updating I use the command UPDATE which works fine from a macro.)

Already tried and it does not work

dbeRunSQL(INSERT INTO TABLENAME(TABLEFIELD) SUM)

Also tested with 'VALUES' expression.

Hi,

Anyone who knows how to use "INSERT INTO" in a DBExpert macro?

Trying to achieve this:

SUM = 10000
dbeRunSQL(INSERT INTO TABLENAME(TABLEFIELD)) SUM

The SUM I actually get from a form and I need the macro to run from this form.

(I've tried moving/adding/deleting " ( ",  " ) ", TOTAL and " ' " in all the positions I can think of but no success.)

Running INSERT in the query designer works, but there it gets the value to insert from a table like;
INSERT INTO TABLEA(FIELDA) SELECT TABLEB.FIELDB FROM TABLEB

Ideas welcome,

Setup & Installation / Re: Ghostscript error

Thanks, Andy, that was the case. A new version of gsdll2.dll had been installed in x:\usr\lib and after renaming that one PMPDF works fine.

Setup & Installation / Ghostscript error
« on: May 25, 2017, 01:08:03 am »
Hi,

I have for years used PMPDF and GhostScript 9.04 (or earlier versions) and setting it up on various eCS system without any problems.
Now I just tried to make it work under ArcaOS, installing the same way as before, but get this error when trying to create a pdf:

Error in GhostScript processing, code:255 -

(I've not installed using yum/rpm and I have not set up any ecups on this system.)

Anyone else experienced this?

Yes, you'll find "ArcaOS50_InstallationGuide.pdf" in the root of the installation dvd.

Programming / Re: Vx-rexx container

Good help from LesK (comp.lang.rexx) solved the problem;

sum = 0

and adding in the loop

parse var data.7
sum = sum + data.7

results in correct output.

I have a container object with several columns and I need to sum the values of one column for displaying the sum in
a field outside the container, each time a record is entered.

ok = VRMethod( "QRY_AVR", "MoveFirst" )
do while( ok = 1 )
    call VRMethod "QRY_AVR", "RowData", "data."
    str = ""
    do i = 1 to data.0
        str = str data.i
    end
    say str
    ok = VRMethod( "QRY_AVR", "MoveNext" )
end

With 2 records the output of say is (from data.1 incl. data.7):

 555 1230 1111 TEST1 1.0  10500 35880
 555 1230 8951 TEST2 1.0  -3456 -8951

The last column, data.7, contains the numbers I need the sum of.
Now the problem is how to make the sum of data.7 and make it available for displaying in a field.

Ideas are welcome and appreciated.
