Scanning with ArcaOS
« on: July 16, 2017, 07:28:51 pm »
Has anyone got a standard USB flatbed (stand alone) to work with ArcaOS, if so how did you do it?

I have an Epson 640Uthat worked with Tame on OS/2 WSeB and Warp 4 that I would like to use on ArcaOS.

Hi Ivan,

Edit your config.sys file to use the USBRESMG.SYS located in your Tame directory.

Hi

Will that work? - I thought usbresmg.sys had to match the usbcalls.dll in use.

Hi All,

Edit your config.sys file to use the USBRESMG.SYS located in your Tame directory.

IIRC I rebuilt Sane to use the new exports in usbcalls.dll - I just need to find the link....

edit - I rebuilt libusb10.dll to work with the newer usbresmg.sys - http://smedley.id.au/tmp/libusb-20161207.zip

This should work with Sane builds such as http://smedley.id.au/tmp/sane-backends-1.0.24-os2-20150113.zip

Now to have fun getting it all together so I end up with a working Tame install (I don't feel like doing a lot of scanning from the command line. That sort of thing was dumped years ago).

Hey Ivan,

"Should" be as simple as putting the new scanimage into the same directory as Tame.exe
