Hello eComStation World!

I would like to let you all know that today I have launched a new eComStation software website known as eCSWare.org. This site is a place where members will be able to upload and download eCS related software. There are many categories ranging from system and developer tools to themes and icon sets.

The site is brand new and is seeking new members and contributers. There have already been some files uploaded but I am sure there are a great many useful pieces of software that need a place to live. Currently the site is set to allow a max upload of 100 megabytes but if you want to host something bigger contact me and I we can arrange to host the file.

My hopes for this site are to create a service that is complimentary to other eCS related services and websites already in existance and to work with these resources to create a better overall eComStation community. See you there!

Congratulations on the the new site.

I wish it all the luck.

Also, as a recommendation, perhaps a posting to the V.O.I.C.E. news mailer...

BigWarpGuy

I have book marked the site. It is really nice and looks very professional. 8)

I clicked on the link but it did not come up. I used Google to find it and was able to get to it.
http://www.ecsware.org/ The site is the same as the one I clicked on. I do not know why it did not come up for me.  ???

TheNerd

Hi folks,

thanks for the encouragement. I've posted it to submit[at]os2voice (correct I believe), OSNews.com, eComStation.org, on the IRC channel, here on OS/2 World, ecomstation.ru and maybe a couple others. Not sure if any are picking it up yet but I know it's at least been posted to eComStation.org. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

I am not sure why the link didn't work for BigWarpGuy, it seems to work for me.

Cheers!
D

I also, accessed you website via the link in your signature file.

It worked fine for me.

BigWarpGuy, you might want to check your browser settings... maybe you're using a proxy?

If so, maybe some tweaking there...

If not that, maybe you missed the link and got one of the others... we all do it.  ::)

Later.

BigWarpGuy

I tried it again - the link in the signature. It worked. I think it might have been the cellular modem that I was using. Sometimes the link is slow enough for it to be shown as an error. On other times the link is really fast.  ::) I have a very finicky cellular modem.  ;D

Ben

Those cellular modems, b'y... tut, tut.

Perhaps you should get yourself one of those one-piece ones... maybe that would work better for you.
::)     ;)

BigWarpGuy

Plus I was using a Win notebook computer with Vista HE on it.  8) If I can get the cellular modem pc card to work with eCS, it would be great. I could switch the sim to an USB cellular modem and try it with eCS.  8)

TheNerd

we have a bunch of people at my old work that use cellular phones as modems. they are on the road all day so it works great for them :)

It is a cellular pc card modem. I want to get an USB cellular modem and tru it on both my EEE PC and my eCS Thinkpad. I will look for one where I can switch the sim card from th pc card to the usb.  8)

Please let me know if you have success and what cellular provider you use... my current one is not yet offering USB cellular modems (but claims they will in "the near future" - cant find that date on any calendar I have...) ;)

I have no ans. here, great ques? BWG. I am right in the middle destroY'g a SATA HD on a mobil rack using Vector Linux so I can demount a windows partition/create a new HPFS one/making it active using fdisk-aiming at getting an AT&T data card [pcmcia modem] working with a freash Warp4 install, biting my tounge, while doing an ECs upgrade, then trying a wireless phone, AT&T USBConnect 881 or? If USB works why not try a data card first as suggested? Fat chance  ???
someday os2 will be ruled by the young and famous-at least in the open-source world!
