jDirSize - Directory Analyzer for Java ====================================== Disclaimer ---------- This is free software, supplied 'as is', with no warranty whatsoever. This program is developed on Ubuntu Linux (Feisty Fawn) using the Java 1.6 Software Development Kit (SDK) and tested on this platform as well as on the eComStation 1.2 platform using the Golden Code Run Time Environment (RTE) for the Java (TM) 2 Platform Standard Edition. Program Description ------------------- The use of this program should be self-explanatory. jDirSize is a tool that can help you analyse the usage of disk space for a specific 'root' directory on your hard drive. jDirSize will show a list of the subdirectories and files in the 'root' which occupy most of your disk space. In addition it will analyze which file types take up most space and how often (or not) these files are modified. The analysis results are displayed in both tables and graphs. Graps can be printed and tables can be exported to a text file. To perform its analysis, jDirSize will access and read the contents of a specified directory on your file system, however it will never modify your data in any way! Requirements ------------ This program will run on any Java 1.4 or higher enabled platform, including Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and eComstation (OS/2). Installation ------------ Put the 'jdirsize10.jar' file in a directory of your choice (the program directory), and from this directory execute the command 'java -jar jdirsize10.jar'. JDirSize can also be run using Sun's Java Web Start technology.
