How it works
This site carries information on PCI sound cards and chip sets which are known to work on eComStation and OS/2 Warp. It lists the cards' and chips' features, the availability and capabilities of drivers, as well as sources for drivers and related software.
For the sound cards in question, you can see if the available driver offers the features you need. First, look up the sound card's chip on the sound cards page, then check the general chip sets page for further information.
If you have on-board sound or your sound card is not listed on the sound cards page, you need to find out which chip is used first. In case there is nothing useful printed on the chip and at the manufacturer's web site, use the latest version of the PCI hardware sniffer which has been ported by Veit Kannegieser. Search for pci*vk.zip at Hobbes. Once you have determined the type of chip, check the general chip sets and AC-97 chip sets pages. AC-97 chip sets are usually used for on-board sound.
Please tell the author, if you know of a PCI sound card or PCI driver which is not yet listed. Use our online web form to submit a report.
