DragText is a workplace shell based application that enhances the OS/2 desktop by allowing it to handle text as an object, access WPS objects from any program and eliminate the obstacles to Drag & Drop.

With DragText, you can copy or move text between these windows using drag-and-drop, delete text by dragging it to the Shredder, and enter a filename by dropping the file's icon into a window.

It also adds drag-and-drop to the System Editor (e.exe) and most programs included in the Internet Access Kit.

DragText is designed to add these features only to windows which lack them. It should never replace or interfere with the drag-and-drop support provided by your applications.

Because its features are added-on, not built-in, it may not work for every possible window and conflicts may arise between DragText and some programs. If a conflict occurs, DragText can be partially or totally disabled for that program using the Disable page in the Settings notebook.

DragText adds drag-and-drop text features to most:

  • entry fields
  • multi-line entry fields
  • list boxes
  • combo boxes
  • spin buttons
  • static text fields

DragText will allow you to:

  • Drag text between windows or to the shredder.
  • Drop text on a folder to create a file
  • Drag a file into a window to read it
  • Drop a URL on a folder to create a WebExplorer Url object or drop it directly on WebEx
  • Drag a folder into a window to list its contents
  • Drop a file into a window to enter its name
