Question: Does Warp Enhancer impact the performance of my system and if yes how much slower will my system be?

Answer: Every running program consumes system resources. But OS/2 Warp was designed to allow the execution of many programs at one time. Warp Enhancer itself was designed to use as little system resources as possible. It's very tiny and optimized to be as fast as possible. In most cases (also on 8MB machines) you should not notice any performance disadvantages.

Question: I know several other products that provide some enhancements to the OS/2 Workplace Shell (WPS). Those programs normally perform significant changes to my system which often causes problems. Does Warp Enhancer also make any changes to my system, e.g. replace the standard WPS folder class?

Answer: No. One of the design goals of Warp Enhancer was not to change anything in the user's system. It does not replace any WPS classes nor does it add anything to the OS/2 INI files. It does register a WPS helper class but this class is very tiny (~14kB) and does not replace any existing classes. You can always configure Warp Enhancer to deregister and delete this class whenever you close the program. Unlike most other programs, you need not to reboot the system after installation and you can remove it at any time only by closing it.

Question: Warp Enhancer is currently free for everyone although it is not freeware. Will it remain free or will it eventually become commercial software?

Answer: Writing Warp Enhancer was a lot of work and cost us a lot of money. Nethertheless, Warp Enhancer is currently free because we at InnoTek Systemberatung love the OS/2 Warp operating system and think that it lacks many intuitive features which are vital for its success. We think that every OS/2 user should have the features that Warp Enhancer implements. That's the reason why we make it available for free. It could be that some future versions of Warp Enhancer will be restricted. A certain fee for commercial use might be possible but private use will remain free.

Question: Why is the version number of Warp Enhancer so low? Does this mean that you're planning to implement more features than we find in the program today?

Answer: Absolutely right. The first goal was to provide status bars for WPS folders but we also plan to add many other features.
