   ADOS project 

1985-1986

   Developing versions called NEWDOS, DOS 5, DOS 286, Big DOS, CP/DOS, developed from DOS 3.2 and MT-DOS.

1987 December

   OS/2 1.0 SE. 

Announced with the PS/2 in April, and delivered in December 1987. 16-bit system for 80286 protected mode, multitasking, memory management, protection, dynamic linking, (incomplete) 16-bit API, DOS support

1988

   OS/2 1.0 EE. Communications (SNA, X.25, LAN Manager), database (Query manager, SQL) 

1988

   OS/2 1.1 SE. Presentation Manager (PM) 

1989

   OS/2 1.1 EE. Remote database 

1989

   OS/2 1.2 SE. High Performance File System (HPFS), Installable File System (IFS) 

1990

   OS/2 1.2 EE. Better PM, TCP/IP and Ethernet 

1990

   OS/2 1.3 SE. 

1991

   OS/2 1.3 EE.

1992 March

   OS/2 2.0. First 32-bit system. 32-bit API, paging, Workplace Shell (WPS). Multiple DOS (and Windows 3.x) sessions.

   OS/2 Warp 3.

   OS/2 Warp Connect 3.
