Last Updated: 7th January, 1995

Symptoms

Random and abrupt dropping of carrier signals and other errors.

Hardware

USR Sportster and Courier modems connecting to other brands of V.FastClass (V.FC) modems.

Problem

USR modems do not use the Rockwell chipset and when connecting to other V.FC modems that do, problems can result.

Fix

USR has issued a new flash ROM for Couriers (dated 12/02/94) and is making a new ROM chip for the Sportsers (availability date unknown).

Contact USR for details. Or click [here] to visit USR's ftp site.

Notes

This is not specifically a Warp problem - it can happen under any operating system. This note is included here to document the fact that what you think may be a Warp problem may actually be a problem with your modem.
