Welcome to issue two of Warp Online.

Your response to our first issue has been nothing short of overwhelming. Since the first of April, our server has logged over 10,000 "subscribers" to WarpOnline, placing it among the top 10 in new internet web magazines in their first month of publication. Well over 500 e-mail messages were received within the first week, 98% of which were encouraging messages and suggestions for improvement.

You as a person interested in OS/2 should be pleased and encouraged by this. I know we were, and it made it all the more clear that we were filling a need for a group of strong, vibrant supporters of an operating system that has a very bright future.

A number of good suggestions were made by our readers over the last month. The most popular one, probably due to the high level of graphical and formatting content of WarpOnline, was to provide a ZIP downloadable version of the magazine to be opened and read off-line. We have provided this for you, and will continue to do so in the future.

Another good suggestion was to place our E-mail addresses on our articles so instant feedback could be given about the content and style of a piece. You will notice that this month, by-lines appear for the first time at the top of each article, and by clicking on the name you can invoke a mail message to the author.

In the coming months you will notice some more improvements, especially to the infrastructure of delivering copies of WarpOnline to you. Most notably, the magazine will soon be translated on a monthly basis into German, and we are working on European and Australian mirrors. We have also registered a new domain, so sometime this month you should start to be able to receive copies at www.warponline.com. Very exciting times for us and for OS/2.

Thanks for "picking up a copy" of this month's Warp Online. Make sure to share your issue with others, especially your friends who are not using OS/2 who don't quite "get it" yet. :)
