Symptoms
Install Hangs after reboot, before System Setup screen appears
Hardware
Toshiba 2150CD series laptop computers (486 DX4-75, built in IDE CDROM, etc)
Toshiba 2150CDS
Problem
The computer was hanging after the install rebooted, but before the System Setup screen appeared. Reboots did not fix the problem, reinstallations did not fix the problem.
Procedure
Try Disabling the sound card in BIOS.
- Reboot the computer
- Hold down the ESC key
- Go to the Sound card setting, hit the spacebar until it says "Disabled"
- Press the END key, then "Y"
- See if the install proceeds.
Notes
This is allowed my laptop's installation to proceed, it may have been a coincidence that the install proceeded, but it did work after I disabled the sound card. You can reenable the sound card after installation and install multimedia support. this problem occured on OS/2 Warp for windows (no Win-OS/2 support). Warp Connect fixes this problem.
