"Advent of Code is an Advent calendar where you get a new programming puzzle every day. Last year, my goal was to have as many solutions as possible running on 16 bit real-mode DOS. This was a ton of fun and probably the best AoC experience I had so far, because there was so much cool stuff to learn in that area.

I didn't want to use C again this year, because this really isn't the best language for the job. So, this year, it was going to be Java. That's also not a great language for AoC, but ...
