Alright...so I finally decided to give the Turbo folders a try. At first things went pretty smoothly, my current application associations/settings were imported w/o any problems. However, the filename filters are a separate options (and I really do like how this is configured in XWP with the group/hierarchy options)...so I proceeded to try this as well.

However...not fully understanding the filter import process I actually imported ALL of my current filters into a single application, in this case PDF (Lucide)...and, well, as you might have guessed it I now have a pretty good mess on my hands...meaning, just about every single known filename mask filter points to my Lucide app...LOL...!!!

"No problem" I though, I would just remove the filters that do not match, since that functionality is present in XWP, but this is where I ran into problems. The minute I remove a single filter I get a soft lock of the WPS...meaning, my CPU meter still chugs along, I can see updates in my apps, but WPS no longer responds. I rely on CAD to get to CAD-Popup and Reboot gracefully (somewhat). I have now tried this multiple times and each time the moment I delete a filter the WPS locks.

Since I back-up my OS2SYS & OS2 files regularly I was able to get back to a working config, however, I do like the Turbo Folders behaviour and would like to pursue this option further. Inevitably mistakes do happen, so I'm trying to figure out why I'm seeing the WPS lock, in case I ever have to un-do such a mistake in the future.

Has anyone encountered this behaviour?

I tried Turbo folders, with the previous version of XWP. It took a while to figure out how to set up associations (in fact I never did finish it, because I didn't have time). Fortunately, you can switch between the old and the new, by simply enabling/disabling the setting, and do a WPS restart.  Once the holiday season is over, I will try again.

I never saw a "hang", but you might be seeing a case where the operation takes a long time to finish (locking out other things while it is doing it). One item at a time worked fine. Of course, there may be a problem in the new version. I will try to give that a try later today.

I find the function to be quite good, after you experiment enough to figure out how to set it up, but the description in the help is not entirely clear, after you get past the basics.

Limited testing, but the new one seems to work as well as the old one. Perhaps you are doing something that I don't do?

Quick update...not sure what the issue was, but it appears to be working correctly now.

In short, I am able to add and remove filters as needed. I actually went back to the default way after trying out the new setups because there were just too many things "missing"...hard to explains, but associations that I see in the default setups that were not showing up at all.  So for now it's back to the old stand-by.

Thanks for the inputs everyone!
