Warp Server on ArcaOS
« on: October 16, 2017, 06:57:20 am »
Is there anything I should be aware of before installing Warp Server on ArcaOS?

I assume I can install it without breaking anything....

Just wondered if WSeB contained the latest version of LAN Server... Anyone know?

Hi John.

I'm sorry that I don't know much about this subject and I'm not an expert on Warp Server, I used it very rarely on the past. I just wondering which components or Warp Server do you want to have on ArcaOS, it is just LAN Server, do you want ArcaOS to work as a File/Print server or anything else?

It does not. If you were installing ACP2, in addition to XR_C005 and XR_D003 to fix the OS, you need wr_8708, un_2334 and ip_8608. I don't remember which of those fixes which parts. If you just install LAN Server over ArcaOS, you won't need the fixes for TCP/IP or for the Operating System. If you are mixing ArcaOS and LAN Server, you might need to go into the fixpaks and just select some parts.

I just successfully performed this. Did an ArcaOS 5.01 install, then installed Lan Server 6.0 and applied IP8608 on top. Also installed FFST. So far everything seems to be working ok.
