Issues with YUM
« on: March 01, 2018, 07:49:03 pm »
Hello everyone.
I have recently been trying to recover from a major OS/2 server wipeout that has been running for a decade without problem, but from which I have been months now trying to recover from, (memory, hard disks and motherboard failures).

I only have a few issues left at this point and one of them is trying to get YUM/RPM working again. I have had some success but at this point running "yum update" or much of anything YUM for that matter, yields the following error.

Code: [Select]
http://rpm.netlabs.org/release/00/i386/repodata/d5352bdb19c39f7275f4a77a53c08c8c5a13e47f2ff1974518e2ba4edebe3588-primary.sqlite.bz2: [Errno 9] Requested Range Not Satisfiable
Trying other mirror.
Error: failure: repodata/d5352bdb19c39f7275f4a77a53c08c8c5a13e47f2ff1974518e2ba4edebe3588-primary.sqlite.bz2 from netlabs-rel: [Errno 256] No more mirrors to try.

I have tried various installs/reinstalls, I have followed FAQs, I have "cleaned all", but in the end it comes back to the above errors.

Does anyone here know how to solve the above issue?

Thanks.

Hi Ben,

Have you checked out the link  for ANPM  ?

https://www.arcanoae.com/wiki/anpm/

It states :

The i386 architecture has been deprecated in favor of i686. As a result, packages which have been updated for the i686 and pentium4 architectures may not reflect the current version numbers in the available package list, although the icon may indicate that they have been updated recently.

Yeah, I have had a look through that page and the Wiki link, but I have found that this error comes up regardless of whether I am using the ArcaNoa Yum interface or the commandline YUM.

Both that program and the commandline YUM will download the list of available RPMs once 'yum clean all' has been completed, but that's as far as it will go; after that nothing but that error.

Have you tried to uninstall ANPM/RPM and then delete the folder  rpm and yum folders  under c:\etc they hold some configs ?

Then install again.

I did go through those files, (/usr, /var, /etc), looking for anything out of place... and saw nothing. However, if something was missing in on of the conf files I'm not sure that I would notice.

I'll give that a try and see what happens.
