Fear not. I am dedicated to keeping OS/2 and eComStation alive. However, I have run out of space to store all my OS/2 historical items. What is for sale is all of the duplicate items. I will continue to add items to the list, so check the URL for ebay from time to time.

I would like to find a museum or collector on the West Coast of USA who has room and the inclination to preserve all this stuff.

In particular, there is the OS/2 Technical Compendium, which is an excellent 5-book summary of the OS/2 Application Programming Interface.

I am not happy with the market of OS/2 artefacts:
1) Yes, the sellers offer boxes with floppy disks and CDs
2) the items are ugly, don't attract attention
3) No stories behind this items
4) No computers with OS/2 pre-installed. Thinkpad laptops are separated from OS/2
5) No people behind OS/2, 0 stories and photos with signatures of famous activists.
6) Books relate to old versions of OS/2 and don't attract attention.

I don't even understand what Eugene is babbling on about. "OS/2 artefacts" are what they are.

1) Of course. What else do you expect? Christmas bows?
2) Boxes are not ugly. Why would they attract attention? IBM didn't build, and market, OS/2 to be pretty.
3) Why would there be stories?
4) Now what do you want? Free hardware?
5) Activists? Pussey Riot perhaps?
6) OS/2 is old. The items are described as "duplicate and unneeded items from OS/2 Museum West". Museums usually contain things that are OLD.

I expect that Neil is doing as he says, and wanting the items to go to a new museum, or to somebody who can use them, rather than to the garbage can.

If Eugene will really like to "add up" to the community he should think on open sourcing his eCo Software (like eCo Software Runtime) instead of thinking on making money by selling licenses, this are not the 90's and this is not "Google Play Marketplace" or "Apple's App Store" . And also do not take BSD licensed software and turn it close source (it is legal but it does not gives you a good "open source citizen" reputation)

I think that eCo Software can make more money by creating open source projects and requesting donations from the community like Silvan (Bitwise works) is doing. Eugene has some very sharp WPS/PM developers on the backend and it will be great if eCo Software starts to "add up" to the open source community.

But the community will not pay for more close source software, we don't want to be dumped just like happened before with IBM, and open source software help us to mitigate that risk.

This is my personal opinion, but it is also very frustrating that Eugene can not clearly express himself in English, when he write something I don't understand like the 80% of what he means.

I agree with most of what Eugene is saying.  eBay has nice store features, and I'm not using them. Can the OS/2 market support an eBay store with enough business to make it worth it?

Fully agreed. There are very limited development resources to build such software, to create a close source component makes no sense today. It doesn"t mean to get no money for the work.  Its possible that somebody still will pay the software when its fully functional and released to public, then its being open sourced for the future. Like this we could have a general pm open file dialog and not the 100th implementation of the same component.
