SATA Controller Mode: Intel RST Premiun

(1/1)

Martin Iturbide:
Hi

I found this on the a Lenovo Yoga 910 machine. (Check attachment)

I can not install ArcaOS to try it out, but I guess that the workarround will be to put it on AHCI mode.

Does anybody has any experience with this "Intel RST Premiun" does it work on ArcaOS ? On Windows 10 it requires special drivers to be loaded on the installer, so I'm guessing it will not work for us.

Regards

Olafur Gunnlaugsson:
It's just Intel's version of Software Raid, you should be using AHCI.

As Olafur says it is Intel's way of using its Optane flash drives in raid configuration.  It is also used with NVMe M.2 flash arrays for booting.

Set it to AHCI and hope the driver chip is recognised by OS2AHCI.ADD.  If it is an Intel chip it will be recognised, if it is an ASMedia, or one of the OEM chips they build for AMD Ryzen, forget about it - it won't work.
