Has anybody been able to install VBox guest additions on 5.0.51 using OS4 kernel with ArcaOS 5.0.3? I've tried a couple of .iso's with disastorus results. Looks like there needs to be some updating of VBoxAdditions.iso for ArcaOS 5.0.3!

Thanks for any info or ideas.   klipp

2rklipp: Which VBox additions are you trying to use? Self-compiled from latest VBox? Did you used the shared folders IFS and daemon from VBox OS/2 svn repo? If so, then I should say that there is some problem with OS/4 kernel and these additions. I did not yet fixed that problem. The daemon just does not finish automounting of shared folders and hangs. This is not yet fixed. It works with IBM kernels, though.

O.K. Thanks valerius. I'm for now only set up to use OS4 kernel and ArcaOS 5.0.3. I'll set up on another machine using OS4 kernel and ArcaOS 5.0.2 or 5.0.1 and see what happens  there.
Another question, Will all future releases of VBox be available on you're site and no longer on Netlabs?

2rklipp: Svn repository is still on Netlabs. But I have no write access to Netlabs' ftp, so I put binaries on my own one. But 5.0.51 is just a test build. The official one was on BWW's Dropbox page.

PS: No matter if it is Arca OS 5.0.3 or 5.0.2/5.0.1. The problem is with OS/4 kernel (we'll try to fix that, of course, but for now, use any IBM's kernel. Arca's kernels are just patched IBM kernels)

I have no write access to Netlabs' ftp,
FTP write access was disabled long ago. If you want to upload something you have to use WebDAV. The netdrive plugin works well.

And WebDAV access is not automatically activated if you have write access to SVN and trac.

2Andi B.: I have access to yum repository via WebDAV, but not to the ftp. Anyway, VBox weights very much and I'm not sure if Netlabs' ftp has enough space to host the VBox builds archive. My ftp has enough space, so I'd better use it.

2Andreas Schnellbacher: yes, probably, I also need to activate access to the ftp via WebDAV. I have write access to yum repo, and the password is the same as Trac/SVN passwords are. But access is enabled separately, I think.

PS: I tried the latest OS/4 kernel today, r5283, and now I see that VBox additions are working! But there's still a problem with ssmdd.sys driver hanging on init with that kernel. But if you comment it out, everything is booting successfully and working well. We'll try fixing the problem with ssmdd.sys as soon as possible.

valerius, I'm trying to get kernel r5283 but it looks like www.gus.biysk.ru is  not reachable, there used to be another site where you could download  OS4 SVN's  bit I lost that during my last H.D. crash. Any ideas as to where I can get it?

Thanks klipp

2R.M.Kilppstein: It is gus.biysk.ru, without www. But AFAICS, the site is currently down. You could try opening it later.

BTW, gus.biysk.ru is back. They said, the problem was the dead cooler on that machine. It's old (Socket 370/SocketA), so it was hard to find the same.
