Help! I don't want losing my data.

Have you used lvm to create the volume for the ntfs drive?

I am not sure if you should really be trying to use the ntfs.ifs driver - long time since I last tried it but I seem to recall it does not work very well and could muck up the ntfs drive.

When you start DFSee, without doing anything, what's the (logged) output of DFSee's automatically executed map and fdisk commands?

The problem with lost partition was solved by unhiding it in windows DISKPART with a command
set id=7 override

How can i fix ntfs disks not appearing in os/2? Is the ecs 2.1 ntfs driver faulty?

And guess what? I rebooted the windows, and partition is hidden again! Should i copy all the data and wipe partition , or is there any more simple way?

May I make a suggestion. First make a backup of all the data you don't want to lose (remember if you don't have at least two copies of the data you don't have a backup).

Now, am I correct in assuming you want to be able to run both windows and OS/2 (eCS or ArcaOS) on your Thinkpad.  As you have found it is not easy and does require preparation (the eCS NTFS FS is not ready for prime time use as far as I can see).

First thing you are going to need at least three partitions on the hard disk. first a NTFS partition for windows, second an HPFS partition for OS/2 and third a Fat 32 partition to enable data transfer between the two operating systems, all of these are standard partitions for the operating systems.

On the two computers I have with this setup (an Acer Aspire 9300 notebook and an ASRock AM1H-ITX based desktop, both using AMD processors) I used DFSee to do the disk partitioning then installed win 7 first which took the first primary partition, then installed ArcaOS on the last logical partition (there are 5 logical JFS partitions on the desktop machine as well as the HPFS boot partition).  The 16 GB Fat 32 partition is at the end of the drive.

This setup has worked for the last 12 years on the Aspire without any problems and is working well on the Mini ITX and should work better when we get USB3.1 drivers.

I don't know if any of the above will help you but it might give you some ideas on how to solve your problem ( note my experience is only with AMD processors - no Intel here).
