MicropolisJ (A Java port of the open sourced SimCity 1 code) seems to work fine (Compiled on KDE Neon with OpenJDK 1.8 )

Some posts are missing, with next update I want to correct that.

I have a question. I do have Java programs which works in OS/2-eCS (don't have ArcaOS because its still not available in Dutch), but do something on the net. I want to have a log with what those programs do and vent on the net. But haven't an idea how to setup such log. Some help is appreciated. So having a ftp programs is nice, but you to have tell your logon name and your password. What I want to test is if it doesn't copy that to some other unwanted site. Kind of nice program good to be true with a trojan inside for catching your name and password.

Thanks,
Joop

Check out the iptrace and ipformat programs (TCPIP Command Reference) as well as Paul's port of wireshark. Biggest problem is not getting too much data, second problem is if something is encrypted, it is hard to know  what it is.

Thanks Dave, I understand that, but you can't encrypt an internet address. I just want to see if something is going to somewhere which is not my choice, in other words the program does trojan stuff.

I have added a new game to my Java site, its Micropolis. For some unknown reason the jar file is not available anymore on the source, only source files, not a compiled one. As far as I can see its just free software under the GNU conditions. Because its difficult to download I made a new distribution file special for OS/2 and its successors. Its complete with icon, commandfile, the jar file and some info how you can handle the program. You can find it here http://joopn.home.xs4all.nl/os2ecs/ecs6e124.htm or in Dutch language http://joopn.home.xs4all.nl/os2ecs/ecs6n124.htm.

I have a picture too;

have fun!

I have uploaded today some pages about an application for quickly browsing, organizing and commenting digital photographs and publishing the resulting albums as web pages. Its called JPhotoAlbum and you can find more on my page http://joopn.home.xs4all.nl/os2ecs/ecs6e125.htm or in Dutch http://joopn.home.xs4all.nl/os2ecs/ecs6n125.htm. All those programs which make html pages do have problems when it comes to validating. This program no exception. But I have wrote some lines about it and how to overcome the problems which was easy with this program.

I have a picture from the program too, not from the html page;

That's it for this year, see you next year and hopefully with more Java programs. I also hope we can welcome a new Java version, programs for version 6 are getting more difficult month after month. I think/guess that I have made a statement that Java is also interesting for OS/2 based computers. This one is number 125, there are more, but need a higher version of Java.

Have fun!

Today I have added a new program to my site. It has to do with logging astronomical objects. So its a program for a very special purpose. You can read more om my page http://joopn.home.xs4all.nl/os2ecs/ecs6e126.htm or in Dutch http://joopn.home.xs4all.nl/os2ecs/ecs6n126.htm. Don't be afraid for the used language in the picture below, its detected automatically and it happens that I have a Dutch installation.

It looks like this;

So, that's number one for 2018 ;-).

Have fun!

I have added today a new program to my OS/2-Java website. Its called High-Throughput Tabular Data Processor or HDTP for short. It can read direct exports from Data Crow and do something with it. In my database how much books do I have from what printer. Options are almost endless. The program can handle more memory then available in OS/2 or its successors up to today. You can read more on this page http://joopn.home.xs4all.nl/os2ecs/ecs6e127.htm or in Dutch http://joopn.home.xs4all.nl/os2ecs/ecs6n127.htm.

Have a picture too;

Have fun!
