Hi Joop.

Can you check if the newer Freeplane 1.6.15 is also working ?

Regards
Hi Martin,
Sorry, that will not work. On my site you can read why. Since version 1.5.x you need Java version 7 due to some functions not found in Java 6. I did test it, but the result was a bug file with the information that my version 6 was too low.
I have updated the link to version 1.3.15 because they altered the directories. Version 1.3.15 is as far as I know the last usable version for Java 6. We just need an update on the Java engine to version 8 or 9, but I'm afraid we have to wait a little longer as the QT Browser has more priorities. Said that, if we get a version 8 or 9 I have a big nightmare ;-), everything have to be tested and updated on my site, all 124 Java applications.
I have still some programs on test, but time does fly these days.
Regards,
Joop

I have added today a new program to my OS/2-eCS Java website. Its called Rachota and it is a program for timetracking different projects. There was no Dutch language available, so I made a new language file with Dutch and updated the program. You can read more on this page http://joopn.home.xs4all.nl/os2ecs/ecs6e128.htm or in Dutch http://joopn.home.xs4all.nl/os2ecs/ecs6n128.htm.

There is a picture too;

Oh, don't worry, there is English and a lot more languages. The program detected Dutch and can now show the program in the Dutch language.

Have fun!

About some other Java apps.

I noticed GreenFoot (http://www.greenfoot.org/door) and Alice (http://www.alice.org/index.php) but I was no able to make them run. Not because of any error, I just didn't found the right way to call the .jar.  (both seems to be platform independent, but I don't know).

Regards.
Hello Martin, Greenfoot, see last page of this topic. Alice can not run on OS/2-eCS/ArcaOS. There are some files specific for the used OS and there is no OS/2 version of Alice. There is also a lot of py, but that's solvable. The specific OS related files not.

I have added a game, or better said a game machine/server/host, today to my homepage. Its called Vassal and is a Java program. Once installed you can download over 2000(!) modules. Each module is a game. At the time of writing, if you want to play one module pro day, you will need about 5.6 years(!) to cover the amount available today. This is the hello screen from Vassal.

You can read more, with some links, on this page http://joopn.home.xs4all.nl/os2ecs/ecs6e132.htm and this is the Dutch page http://joopn.home.xs4all.nl/os2ecs/ecs6n132.htm

I have updated the pages "Test phase" http://joopn.home.xs4all.nl/os2ecs/ecs6e46.htm and "Disapproved" http://joopn.home.xs4all.nl/os2ecs/ecs6e47.htm. The Dutch pages were far behind and are now on same level. You can find the page "Testfase" here http://joopn.home.xs4all.nl/os2ecs/ecs6n46.htm and the page "Afgekeurd" here http://joopn.home.xs4all.nl/os2ecs/ecs6n47.htm.

Have fun!

I have added Art of Illusion, I had it for a long time on the drive, but it wasn't real stable. With latest version this seems gone. As with all drawing programs you need lots of memory in Java. This is a screenshot from my test.

You can read more, with some links, on this page http://joopn.home.xs4all.nl/os2ecs/ecs6e133.htm and this is the Dutch page http://joopn.home.xs4all.nl/os2ecs/ecs6n133.htm

Thanks Martin for pointing out in the software news, complete forgot this great program.

Have fun!

Hi Martin,

Missed this message for some reason. I have this view in Smartbar. Special with system like applications like disk programs I don't opt for Java, may be for no reason, just a feeling. If this is only in Smartbar which might not be available for some motherboards it could be an option for Java. Your opinion is appreciated in this matter, thanks.

Regards,
Joop

I have updated the page about Jmol, The latest version 14.29.46 still works for most of the things in the menu's. I had more trouble to get it going, but after some starts it didn't end in a crash. Problem now is why did it crash, the logs point to memory, but after start this seems not the problem according some info. So puzzled. Here a screenshot;

You can find the English page here http://joopn.home.xs4all.nl/os2ecs/ecs6e50.htm and the Dutch version here http://joopn.home.xs4all.nl/os2ecs/ecs6n50.htm.

I also updated some links in pages because the version of the program for our version of Java sifted to the back-burner so to speak. This process is not finished yet and takes a lot of time.

Have fun,
Joop
