Hi Joop.

It seems that the zip file is corrupt.
I found this one that I can open: http://www.os2site.com/sw/util/disk/jdiskreport-1.3.1_os2.zip

Hi Martin,

No luck.
Program works, but as soon as I scan a drive I get;

SYS1808:
The process has stopped.  The software diagnostic
code (exception code) is  0328.

First I thought this was a memory problem, there is info for Apple systems for this problem. Got in steps to double that size, but it all ends with hs_err_pidXX.logs. Open those logs suggests a memory problem.

I don't have info on exception code 0328. Can't find it.

May be my drives are too difficult for the program ;-( and I tried just a really flat one.

Regards,
Joop

Hi Joop.

I tried on ArcaOS 5.0.3 VM guest (Windows 10 host). I made it scan the D:\ drive  in JFS and I guess it worked for me.

I have added a new program today to my website. It is Violet UML Editor. This is a screenshot with some testing;

You can find more on my homepage,  this is the English page http://joopn.home.xs4all.nl/os2ecs/ecs6e134.htm, en this is the Dutch page http://joopn.home.xs4all.nl/os2ecs/ecs6n134.htm

The program is visible in two categories, programming and Office programs because you can make diagrams for both.

Have fun!
Joop

Today I have added the program JSynoptic. JSynoptic is a tool dedicated to render information graphically. But before you are there with any results you have to read the help and other information. There is no official manual and to get the program going is not that easy. I had a lot of trouble and tries, you can see my efforts in the picture, not much, but with this result I have tested enough.

You can read more om the English page http://joopn.home.xs4all.nl/os2ecs/ecs6e135.htm or in Dutch http://joopn.home.xs4all.nl/os2ecs/ecs6n135.htm.

Have fun!

I have updated a lot of pages. Most of them have to do with new links or updated information. To be more of help I have marked the categories and the pages with a red dot. It makes it more easy. I'm still busy with a lot of things, so expect more.

Have fun!

I have added a new password program to my site. Its called MyPasswords. It looks like this;

I have made the most used options visible. You can read more on my homepage, this is the English page http://joopn.home.xs4all.nl/os2ecs/ecs6e136.htm and this is the Dutch page http://joopn.home.xs4all.nl/os2ecs/ecs6e136.htm.

Unfortunately it is not maintained anymore, all references to websites seems to be non existing. There are more Java programs like this one, but most of them need a higher level of Java which is still not available for us. We're walking far behind with our version. I hope they will pick it up and give us a more modern version which can handle more programs.
It would be too bad if Java is no longer an option for OS/2 and her successors.

Any way, have fun!
Joop

With the update of USB capable for sound (big thank you Wim) we need a program which can do something usefull with that data. So I updated today my homepage with the program LAoE. I had tested it before, but not yet with our latest edition of Java. I done that today, see the picture,

You can read much more on my page in English http://joopn.home.xs4all.nl/os2ecs/ecs6e137.htm or if you speak Dutch in Dutch http://joopn.home.xs4all.nl/os2ecs/ecs6n137.htm.
Its a huge program and I don't have all the new goodies, one is  a missing ArcaOS in Dutch and all whats going with it. So I can't do some tests for now, but one day I will...;-)

Have a nice day and beware of your ears, you only have two of them and they can't be replaced like your computer or anything what is running on it.

I have added a new multimedia program to my site today. Its a player with lots of features (for a player) and its called JavaMod. On the picture below you see different windows of the program, normally only the window with the play buttons and the meters is visible.

You can read more about the program and how to install (this one is really easy) on my page in English http://joopn.home.xs4all.nl/os2ecs/ecs6e138.htm or in Dutch http://joopn.home.xs4all.nl/os2ecs/ecs6n138.htm.

Have fun!

On this last day of the year 2019 I have added a new office program to my site. Its a FIRST, because I just finished the translation from English to Dutch. It took me about a year to do it. Now its ready and available on my site only for the time being. The translation is send to the author, but I don't know how quick it will be in his distributions. The program is called Yapbam, which stands for Yet Another Personal Bank Account Manager. There are some interesting features with this program. So pay a visit to my site, you can find the English version on http://joopn.home.xs4all.nl/os2ecs/ecs6e139.htm  and the Dutch version on http://joopn.home.xs4all.nl/os2ecs/ecs6n139.htm.

Proof of course ;-)

For now, have a nice few moments with your family in the rest of the year 2019 and see you in 2020! Have fun!

Hi Joop,

Do you know of a java program that gives rise and set times for the moon from a set position?  It might be part of one that also gives sunrise and sunset.

Just happened to be visiting acme.com and noticed this, http://acme.com/java/software/Phoon.html, only phases of the Moon though.

Thanks Dave ,  I already have a native OS/2 app that does that.

Hi Joop,

I have looked into and found some programs, but all needed minimum Java 7 and we are behind. Other programs which could work with Java 6, but had specific files for operating systems like dll  (windows) and so (linux) files, so not pure Java. I did found the new address of NVJ which is now up to version 5.2, its grown huge. But it still works with Java 6, see my homepage. On my system it will take some time to read just the enormous amount of data for stars, galaxies etc. Of course, there is also the Moon, but I think not in the way you want it.

Have fun and best wishes for 2020,
Joop
