Hi

I have a noob question about SDL development. For games that had been developed with SDL 1x, is it possible to recompile those with SDL 2.x? or all the game code (like functions calls, etc) will need to be changed to use the SDL 2.x instead?

Regards
Their migration guide is here: https://wiki.libsdl.org/MigrationGuide.
The compability layer is here: https://github.com/libsdl-org/sdl12-compat

Hello TZhivkov, welcome the forum

Hello,
I need any free playable pinball native for OS/2

Sadly "Psyberball Pinball" never evolved from 1996.

Maybe we should try to find an open source SDL pinball game and see if it can be ported.

Dave, sorry to abuse of your time.

Do you think this will compile on OS/2? It uses C++11 and SDL2.

It requires this freeware from Microsoft Pinball: https://www.groovypost.com/wp-content/uploads/static/downloads/3d_pinball_for_windows_space_cadet.exe

Hi Martin, tried building it, make seems to get into a loop early on, one core at 100% and after a while the system locks up. Not sure how to proceed.

Hi TZhivkov

I doubt if there are any... I have never found a working OS/2 based pinball game.

I think this is simply because the existing DOS games can be played without problems using the OS/2 built in DOS support - or DOSBox can be installed.

I use DOSBox to play Epic Pinball and Pyscho Pinball - probably 2 of the best pinball games around - simply because current audio devices tend to need the uniaud driver which does not have sound support for DOS sessions.

Pete

hi Remy

You will find some flash pinball games using this google search
https://www.google.com/search?sca_esv=0619bf7b847f9363&q=pinball+game+adobe+flash&oq=pinball+game+adobe+flash&aqs=heirloom-srp..

No idea if any of them work as I do not have flash or odin installed.

Hi Remy

I selected the first result in the google search which was https://archive.org/details/pinball_flash_202310

Looking at the file list using the Show All option on the above page I see that it contains pinball.swf

This package also contains an swf file https://archive.org/details/critter-pinball_flash

I'll let you rummage through the other google results  :-)

Regards

Pete
