Odin is pretty well abandoned. Bitwise has done the most recent work I believe. That was to support various programs. Java and Flash mainly, with, IIRC, Java being the Windows version recompiled against Odin and the Flash wrapper also Odin based.

Java is pretty high up the list to port. Might be next if QT is finished and sponsoring found- So it might well be that for a new Java Odin will get some updates as well. Dmitry might shed some light on that because he would likely be the one who does the porting.

Nice. After checking your picture I also tried it with Odin 0.9.0 and with the latest IrfanView 4.53 32bits version. It seems to run very good.

IrfanView really does seem to run great. I tested myself, too.

I was wondering if it's possible to make SumatraPDF to work with ODIN. It complained about missing DLLs. I downloaded some versions of them from dll-files.com. There are no error messages anymore but the program still doesn't start. It may require specific versions of those DLLs (msvcrt.dll for example).

Sorry, I learned a long time ago that you can't just add/use windows DLLs to Odin - they don't work.  The OS/2 DLLs are LX while the Win DLLs are ME.

That was what pe2lx.exe was for. Seems to have been renamed to xx2lx.exe. Run with no parameters to see how to use.
There was also win2k.sys which worked like a PE loader, could run Win32 programs by clicking on them and it would convert and load the DLLs, even DLL's with long names. It has also been renamed to xx2k.sys or such and isn't really recommended to use. It could load other stuff too IIRC.

Hi Dave,

Am I reading that right by using xx2lx.exe I can convert win 95/98 DLLs to ones that work with Odin or am I missing something?

Actually, I might be mis-remembering. It's been a long time but looking at my old Odin install, I just copied the Win32 DLLs to \odin\system32 and rereading the documentation, xx2lx was for converting the whole program to LX.

Hi

I also remember that some for some programs to run with some version of Odin, you will have to grab some DLLs from Windows and convert them to LX. I used to call it "odinizing the files". But not all Windows DLLs worked, and I think it also depended on the DLL version. I guess I stopped doing that with the "xx2k.sys" on boot but I can not recall correctly.
