Hello Remy,

New screenshot to update older one :D

Ohh...great reminder, time to upgrade...I was still using the 1.4.x version here.

What is the recommended version of ffmpeg for this release? I find 4.0.0x on Hobbes...that appears to be the latest one.

Hi Remy,

OK, upgraded but ran into an issue.

At some point in time you developed a new feature for me specifically which allowed me to rely on a file called "owncmd.txt" to insert some OS level calls.

In my case the application would completely freeze the system unless I shut OFF all by 1 CPU core. So in that file I literally placed the following:

Code: [Select]
A @smpoff
B @smpon

Now this was previously working fine, however with this latest update it no longer appears to be utilized. Subsequently my machine freezes immediately as the application attempts to start the video encoding process.

Do you recall whether this functionality is still present in your application, but maybe just some names changed? Or perhaps I need to include any additional setups? I installed the update into the existing installation directory, so all my previous settings were preserved.

Thanks!

After review, it should work as before.

Please run avxcat with added parm --ffdebug
You should fin a file named FCAxxxxx.CMD  (xxxxx = some numbers) under your temp path.
In this file, you should find commands from  owncmd.txt  in the batch file with 'B' located before the ffmpeg call and 'A' after it.
If found, add followng string      copy_metadata=""      under line   more_map=""
also change the line as suggested into last 2 comments line (just correct temp path name) and run this batch after removing the 2 last 'exit'  in an OS2 windows and check when it hangs or for any other error messages. If it hangs during this test, the problem could be within ffmpeg and if it looks so, try to use the previous ffmpeg e.g. 3.3.1 your propably already used and give a new try using this rexx batch pgm.

Note: Latest AVxCAT is compatible with previous ffmpeg builds
Chers/2
