Hi Mark!

That weather sounds hideous! We've just had our first tast of summer, with a couple of days above 30C - it's been glorious!

Sorry about the issues with Trac - I've now created a Uniaud32 project at my own bug tracker - https://mantis.smedley.id.au - please raise issues there.

Cheers,

Paul

Thats normal January weather here, Paul ........... only this is beginning of November  ???

Thanks for the link between being out for supplies, lunch and more shovelling, no time today - will have a look tomorrow and Best!

New Uniaud32 - based on linux 6.1 code - https://smedley.id.au/tmp/uniaud32-linux-6.1-20221217.zip

Thanks Paul

I tested it (Release version) with ArcaOS 5.0.7 guest on VBox 7.0.4  (Windows 10 22H2 host).
- VM ICH AC97: Works, Audio control working, no traps. I have an issue that the first time I play a wav, I hear it loud (100%) and the next times I play it I hear it lower (Volume setting - 40%). If I drag a file to force the drag sound it sound 100% again, I play another wav  and it is 100% again and the next times respects the volume control (40%). I reverted back to 3.01.03 (5.14.7) and got the same issue.
- VM Intel HD Audio: no traps. Does not produce audio. I reverted back to 3.01.03 (5.14.7) and didn't get sound. Maybe it was something changed on VirtualBox that I didn't noticed before.

Thanks Martin - HDA sound has always been temperamental for me in Virtualbox. I just tested on a baremetal T470s and sound is working fine for me.

Hi All,

Longest time between builds for a while :/

I updated the source to linux 6.1.18 this morning - https://smedley.id.au/tmp/uniaud32-linux-6.1.18-20230312.zip

Minimally tested under virtualbox (ac97 & hda) and with HDA on a Thinkpad T470s.

Code will be in netlabs SVN shortly, for anyone that wants to build (in the uniaud32-dev branch)

YMMV :)

Cheers,

Paul.

Hi, occasionally follow this thread of Pauls's Uniaud updates work which I read is giving positive results in most cases.
In my case not exactly, meaning that my last attempts to replace SB16 drivers with Uniaud ones, system sounds ok but no sound in multimedia streaming files and randomly no sound in multimedia local files. SB16 at least ok in both system sound and multimedia local files.
This thread makes me believe that it depends on some wrong configuration I'm not understanding, also based on the fact that I'm not that smart as many of you, but much encouraged by the personal progresses reached just after joined this forum years ago.
Said this, I think that I will dedicate a new virtual machine to such task in Windows.
I actually run Warp 4.52 Vm VirtualBox both in Windows host, were I'm keeping 1 main guest and other 3 dedicated to different testings which if found positive/stable then are implemented on the main one,  and Ubuntu 22.04 host which receives the last stable updates from the guest machine in Windows.
Then I will ask a bit of basic support here, thinking that will begin whith the same issues above described.
Thank you

Thanks for testing, but SB16 isn't really the target hardware here - the focus is on modern HDA hardware. If SB16 works, great, but given there would be so few people still using that hardware, I have no real interest in investigating the issues.

well, not hardware, just emulation.  The VM actually works as explained with SB16 audio filter configuration/drivers, but if I could swhitch to Uniaud fully working would be best, my target.  Believe I'm missing some configuration klowledge.
