On my desktop computer with the updated driver, the sound is gone. In archive log files.

Interesting... the key things I note are the extra Uniaud16(?) lines in the log...

U16: WS::ABS InProcess Now=1 Save=3
U16: WS::ABS InProcess Now=1 Save=3
U16: WS::AB: BufferMode=1
U16: WS::AB: BufferMode=1
U16: WS::AB: BufferMode=1

and finally:
U16: StartStream: ConfigDev failed!!
U16: StartStream: ConfigDev failed!!

No real idea why though....

Paul Smedley:
Hi All,

thanks to those that have tested.

For anyone that has no sound with the linux-3.0 build, can they please provide logs from a debug build?

Debug build of trunk (roughly what is the latest in ArcaOS):
http://smedley.id.au/tmp/uniaud32-trunk-debug.zip

Debug build of linux-3.0 code:
http://smedley.id.au/tmp/uniaud32-linux-3.0-debug.zip

'copy alsahlp$ trunk-debug.log' (for trunk) and 'copy alsahlp$ trunk-linux-3.0.log' for the 3.0 build should suffice

For good measure, there's also a build based on the linux 3.2 kernel code. I must note that this one produces NO audio for me with HDA hardware in Virtualbox, but does for AC97. I'd be interested in results on real hardware...
http://smedley.id.au/tmp/uniaud32-linux-3.2-debug.zip (release)
http://smedley.id.au/tmp/uniaud32-linux-3.2-debug.zip (debug)

Cheers,

Paul

Hi Paul,

here comes the test report from my Thinkpad X250:

Debug build of trunk (roughly what is the latest in ArcaOS):
http://smedley.id.au/tmp/uniaud32-trunk-debug.zip
=> working as well as the one from AN

Debug build of linux-3.0 code:
http://smedley.id.au/tmp/uniaud32-linux-3.0-debug.zip
=> sound is distorted

http://smedley.id.au/tmp/uniaud32-linux-3.2-debug.zip (release)
http://smedley.id.au/tmp/uniaud32-linux-3.2-debug.zip (debug)
=> both seems to be same files
=> sound distorted

Unfortunately I have no idea how to create the requested debug output files, sorry.

Greetings from Potsdam/Germany,
Mike

I think you need this file, to generate the log.
