Does your system have a serial port? It would be interesting to see where in the boot cycle your system is trapping.
I have no serial port.
Marking with REM the uniaud16.sys, I was able to start the version. 4.19.163, but no sound. Even so, only one start has been possible. Other attempts have failed with a trap. I attach the log - debug.

Unchecking the uniaud16.sys, and marking REM BASEDEV = HD4DISK.ADD (Memory disk) with REM, the system starts up without problems, but without sound.

New build:
Cleanup up diffs as much as reasonably possible to make future code maintenance easier
Updated rbtree  / regmap / regcache to the 4.19.163 code level

I don't expect any change compared to yesterday's build - but you never know :)

https://smedley.id.au/tmp/uniaud32-linux-4.19.163-20201229b.zip - has a different implementation of krealloc() which allows me to use some unmodified code in pcm_lib.c which was trapping with my old krealloc() implementation.

TODO is to reduce logging in release builds.....

https://smedley.id.au/tmp/uniaud32-linux-4.19.163-20201228.zip - works in Virtualbox with ac97 and hda hardware

hi, tried on on my comp

What hardware is this? I presume previous Uniaud builds worked?

CA0106/CA0111 [SB Live!/Audigy/X-Fi Series]
I did not check previous    but  uniaud   usually works ok

Can you upload a copy of alsahlp$ ?

 Paul,

Just tried the 1229b version of 4.19 and I get a TrapE in UNIAUD32 at boot. Also uploaded a trap dump into Dropbox. Let me know if I should also try the previous 1229 version...

This version has worked well for me!
But shortly after using it watching a youtube, and clicking on "search" in the seamonkey closed the browser with an ugly noise. I have to try it longer.

I'll look at the dump later today, please test with the original 1229 build - that will help confirm that it was the krealloc change which broke things...

Cheers,

Paul

Hi, as it need more time to get the T480 to run again I meanwhile tested with my S1 Yoga 12 from Lenovo:

Version 20201228 works like a charm!

Hardware:
Lenovo Thinkpad S1 Yoga 12
Intel core i7 5th Generation
Soundcardinfo:
Card info for adapter 0:
  num: 0
  id: PCH
  driver: HDA-Intel
  name: HDA Intel PCH
longname: HDA Intel PCH at 0xf1204000 irq 22
  mixer: Conexant CX20751/2
  componenets: HDA:14f1510f,17aa503e,00100100

Software:
ArcaOS 5.06

Great work, Paul!!

I guess the "b" with the attached files is not right, I downloaded it from the link from OS4Users latest post.

Will try the 20121229b now and report. More information needed?

Hope this helps!

Sigurd

EDIT: 20201229b crashes with trap, See attachment please.

EDIT: 20201229 crashes with trap as well, See attachment please.

Switch back to 20201228.

Hi Sigurd!

EDIT: 20201229b crashes with trap, See attachment please.

EDIT: 20201229 crashes with trap as well, See attachment please.

Switch back to 20201228.

From the 20201228 build, are you able to load theseus, General -> System -> Modules - find the entry for uniaud32.sys and double click the value in the left held column.

Another window will open - post the output below  'Output Table' which should be something like the below.
Code: [Select]
Object Table:
Obj#   address      size   hob   sel  page map  map size     flags / flags...
0001  FA875000  0000048B  0000  2A88  00000001  00000001  00001023 / readable writeable shared 16-bit
0002  FA874000  000006DB  0000  2A90  00000002  00000001  00001025 / readable executable shared 16-bit
0003  F26E4000  000959F8  0000  2A98  00000003  00000096  00002025 / readable executable shared 32-bit
0004  FA862000  00000007  0000  2AA0  00000099  00000001  00002025 / readable executable shared 32-bit
0005  F2682000  00061FB0  0000  2AA8  0000009A  00000052  00002023 / readable writeable shared 32-bit

This helps understand where the driver is loaded in memory and relates the trap screen output back to uniaud32.map

Cheers,

Paul

OK damn! Well at least it wasn't the changes to krealloc. The 1229b trap is confusing me as the address of the trap isn't being found - ie I can't find which function is trapping - most likely as it's in a static function - but normally I can at least see the source file the trap is in.

I'm going to do a build with regmap & friends backlevelled to the code from the 1228 build - that's my best guess right now as to the cause.
EDIT: https://smedley.id.au/tmp/uniaud32-linux-4.19.163-20201230.zip

Unfortunately, I can't reproduce the trap on my T60 or X250

Cheers,

Paul
