Hi Ian,

Hi Paul,

https://smedley.id.au/tmp/uniaud32-linux-5.10.11-20210131.zip

Fixed a problem in hda_codec.c that allowed me to remove a dirty hack from lib32/sound.c

This *might* help fix a reported problem with system sounds interrupting a MP3 stream and not resuming correctly, which is a regression from the 2.02 driver...

Whoa!!!

The BIG DEAL here is the fact that this is the 1st newer release which does NOT HANG during boot!!!

Thank you sir...I've been testing each new release with a sense of dread given the results trend so far...but, this is a good one.

Whatever that tweak was, it did fix the failure here!  :-* (because you deserve it - LOL)

Wow, that was unexpected! I'm struggling to understand how the change avoided a hang - but if it worked - great :)

Cheers,

Paul

Hi Alexander

Based on IRC - you had working multistream with an old uniaud16.sys and uniaud32.sys

Are you able build date/version numbers of the 'working' uniaud16.sys and uniaud32.sys so I can try and ascertain the relevant SVN revision and see what changes have been made since.

Cheers,

Paul

Hi Paul,

I give a try to your latest build and it is the best off all I could try (now using it in replace of previous one).
No ff crash seen, better switch when using PM123 and running a youtube video and going back to pm123 etc... Very good
Definitively the best build.

Regards
Rémy

Paul,

https://smedley.id.au/tmp/uniaud32-linux-5.10.17-20210227.zip

Still rockin' here, no sight of previous boot hang issues, so this would be the 2nd drop that's been alright in that respect.

Thank you!

Thanks Paul.

It keeps working fine here on the ArcaOS 5.0.6 VirtualBox VM (Intel HD Audio) on W10 host on the TP Yoga 14.
- Sound, Master Volume working, No Trap.

Paul, can you please check this ticket suggestion to change the  /V "boot messages" of the driver: http://trac.netlabs.org/uniaud/ticket/246. I guess it should not be a complex thing, but it is up to you.

Hi all, sorry to ask this question, can I get installation tips somwhere or is it just un upgrade to a previous installed version ?  If so, which is the uniaud.diff  placing ?
I'm asking because previously -months ago-  I installed uniaud on my OS2 Warp 4.52 Virtualbox machine trying to solve the issue of no sound coming from youtube video in Firefox 45.9, whith the result of not solving this .
By reading these posts I'm understanding that after the update a new attempt  could be done.
Thank you
