I give a try to  3-12-74-20200808
- It found my card
- it found irq
but it only found one time the audio driver "Realtek ALC892"  resulting into a nice working audio (better than originally one) but this occurred only 1 time of 6 reboot !
Strange...

Parms used:    DEVICE=C:\MMOS2\UNIAUD32.SYS /A:1 /V /C /M /L

You have to screen your config.sys on the position of this line, it must be one of the last in the device block. Everything uniaud needs has to be started before the line with uniaud.

Hi David,,

3.12 seems to work fine, but I get no sound with 3.10. I'll upload debug Alsahlp$ files...

Most likely this is due to be implementing more of the 'quirks' in patch_realtek.c in 3.12 than are present in 3.10; and one of those quirks happens to fix sound for your hardware.

I still have a bit more work to do to fully implement all quirks in 3.12, and this is pretty tedious work - given 3.12 is working, I'll likely not re-do this work for 3.10.

I'll try and finish 3.12 off today, then move on to working out why 3.14 can't load a driver.

Cheers,

Paul

I think all the quirks are now enabled in 3.12.74:
http://smedley.id.au/tmp/uniaud32-linux-3.12.74-20200809.zip

This might help with joop's issue as there were a bunch of missing workarounds for Realtek chips up until this morning...

I also tidied up patch_sigmatel and now get sound in Virtualbox again :)

I was sure I'd tried previously, but I tried again 3.14.79 this morning with ac97 hardware (using Virtualbox) and I detected hardware successfully. I then backlevelled hda_intel.c to an older version and got detected hardware with 3.14.79 and HDA hardware.

After some detective work, I've got HDA working with a slight hack whilst I find a better way to implement schedule_work() on OS/2.

Produces sound in Virtualbox with AC97 and HDA hardware for me.

Uniaudio driver had default ArcaOS position into config.sys
I moved it just before the latest device statement which is for the video.
Problem remain the same "Realtek ALC892" not detected

I updated to the latest 3.12 and did a few more reboot to check and I have the result: "realtek ALC892" not detected
(From all boot/reboot I did, it was only one time detected with the /A:1 adapter, using the debug build)

 Remy.

What do you see when you type 'unimix -card' on a command prompt? Also, what happens if you change /A:1 to /A:0?

What do you see when you type 'unimix -card' on a command prompt? Also, what happens if you change /A:1 to /A:0?

Regards,

Hi David,

Using ArcaOS driver, I have:
Code: [Select]
Command line mixer for UNIAUD32. Version 1.1
Detected UNIAUD version 2.02.06
Detected 1 audio adapter(s)
Card info for adapter 0:
  num: 0
  id: Intel
  driver: HDA-Intel
  name: HDA Intel
longname: HDA Intel at 0xf7410000 irq 22
  mixer: Realtek ALC892
  componenets: HDA:10ec0892,1462d922,00100302

With the new 3.12.74, I have:
ommand line mixer for UNIAUD32. Version 1.1
Detected UNIAUD version 2.02.05
Detected 1 audio adapter(s)
Card info for adapter 0:
  num: 0
  id: Intel
  driver: HDA-Intel
  name: HDA Intel
longname: HDA Intel at 0xf7414000 irq 16
  mixer: Intel ID 2808
  componenets: HDA:80862808,80860101,00100000

Changing /A:1 to /A:0 gives:
Command line mixer for UNIAUD32. Version 1.1
Detected UNIAUD version 2.02.05
Detected 1 audio adapter(s)
Card info for adapter 0:
  num: 0
  id: HDMI
  driver: HDA-Intel
  name: HDA Intel HDMI
longname: HDA Intel HDMI at 0xf7414000 irq 16
  mixer: Intel ID 2808
  componenets: HDA:80862808,80860101,00100000

Without the /A parameter, same result.

It looks like adapter number isn't taken !

Result of unimix -list

For me it looks like the /A:1 isn't recognized. May it be possible ?

 Hi Remy,

"For me it looks like the /A:1 isn't recognized. May it be possible ?"

Yes, it looks like the mixer for the HDMI device (/A:0) is mistakenly being detected for the HDA device (/A:1). Hopefully Paul can figure it out...

Does http://smedley.id.au/tmp/uniaud32-linux-3.14.79-20200810.zip help at all? In reviewing the diff from the original sources - something screwy had happened; so I took a fresh copy of the 3.14.79 sources and re-applied the diffs from 3.12.x. The diff looks much cleaner now. Driver still loads/works in Virtualbox, no time before work today to test on real hardware.
