 Hi Paul,

This 0103 version works perfectly on my desktop machine (HDA: ALC887-VD): boots, proper sound, 9 controls in PMUnimix, no hesitations, appears in the hardware manager. I'll keep using this one and let you know if anything comes up - thanks again! Hope to soon see your bust in the OS/2 hall of fame!

Regards,

For the notes:

Sound in WINOS2 does work on my S1 Yoga 12 with the combination of Pauls 20210103 and the winos2-audio-19980501 driver from hobbes.  ;)

You can grab the Beta Driver from here: https://hobbes.nmsu.edu/download/pub/windows/WinOS2_Audio_19980501.zip

Please follow the included readme to install.

Nice to have sound in WINOS2 as well  :)

it works ok here
Found my problem.  For whatever reason, I had the uniaudio32.sys and uniaudio16.sys statements remmed out in the config.os4 file.   One of the earlier test drivers kept trapping my system and this was why the two statements were remmed out.   The latest driver works great.

Thanks all - will check in the latest changes shortly, then set about trying to fix the release builds.

Glad it works for you! Your comment about the hall of fame gave me a giggle - to be honest - I'm just glad people appreciate my work. The comments (and of course the occasional sponsorship that helps pay for new gadgets) are truly appreciated.

Cheers,

Paul

 Paul,

The 0103-debug version seems to work well on my laptop, but the mixer is identified as 'IDT 92HD81B1X5'. With the 'official' AOS version of UniAud, it is identified as 'Intel 2806'. Not sure if this even matters, or maybe they are the same thing? Get more controls with PMUnimix and 0103 too. Alsahlp$ attached...

Regards,

Got a TrapE

hi, could you show me this trap screen on  OS/4 kernel (it does not trap on my comp)

No problems here with OS/4 kernel (at least not any different than with OS/2 kernel). Maybe you are thinking of David Graser (who reported a difference between the 2 kernels)?

Regards,

You reported about some trap earlier   I would like  to see that   trap screen on OS/4.
David Graser has already solved his issue https://www.os2world.com/forum/index.php/topic,2436.msg29615.html#msg29615

OK, here you go... version 4.19.163-20201230.

Don't use OS/4 much on this machine, mostly on the laptop, but Paul's latest version seems to work fine with OS/4...

There's nothing I've done that would have changed this. Given the 'official' AOS version of Uniaud is based on ALSA 1.0.24 - released in February 2011, and my latest builds are based on the linux 5.4 kernel - originally released in November 2019 - I'll put the change in mixer name down to the ~9 years of ALSA development :)

Thanks for all your testing!

Cheers,

Paul
