Whilst I'm pleased to hear it's working for you, I'm struggling to understand what's changed in the code to fix things <shrug>

Well, you can't argue with success. The change had something to do with selecting a second adapter. That seems to be where the problem was. I do need to use /A:1 to make it work.

One more step forward.  :)

I'm getting weirdness at the start of playing some system sounds sometimes, like sounds staticy at first, other times plays fine.

HI All,

This hopefully doesn't break anything, and note I haven't committed the changes to SVN yet - but they will again help to simplify the code maintenance (assuming nothing breaks).

Cheers,

Hi Paul

https://smedley.id.au/tmp/uniaud32-linux-5.10.7-20210116.zip

it works ok

Thanks - if anything - it would break mixer controls. Virtualbox has decided not to give me sound right now, so I can't test effectively at the moment....

uniaud32-linux-5.10.7-20210116.zip

Works well here thanks
Mixer also still works well, as long as I remember to delete PMUniMix.ini after swapping cards..

Latest 20211016 works well on my Lenovo S12 Yoga, but still only the lack of some controls.

By the way - i noticed that PM123 Version 1.41 does show covers of the Sounds played, see scond picture upper right corner - nice feature  :)

https://smedley.id.au/tmp/uniaud32-linux-5.10.7-20210117.zip - just code cleanups - shouldn't change any behaviour....

Works the same as previous here, turn the master playback volume down and the beginning of a system sound sounds staticy and loud sometimes.
Leave volume on full and use speaker volume control and it sounds good.

Hi All,

I'm trying to look into what's required to support multiple streams.

It appears that almost all modern hardware only supports a single stream in hardware - so other OS have a software mixer to mix the sounds before passing on to the hardware.

Uniaud32 logs record what the number of supported streams is, in a line like:
GetUniaudPcmCaps: pcm 0, cp2. nr of streams: 1

I'm interested to see if anyone has any hardware that has 'nr of streams' > 1 - most likely this would be SB Live! type hardware.

Cheers,

Paul
