Hi Paul,

latest version from you is working on my TP X250. I need to check on my TP T430s later this week.
Thank for your great effort.

My thinkpad T430S works fine with it.

Tested, works but found a "regration"
- playing an audio file through PM123 (mp3)
- open firefox and watch a video  (video sound is on and PM123 silent
- stop play on the video (no sound under pm123)
- close firefox = no sound under pm123 (have to kill it and restart)
(Arca build = previous one) at firefox close, pm123 plays again the song, no need to kill it.

!

Hi Paul,
Seems to be working well on my TP X250 (in the docking station). System sound is there, Firefox can play audio files and pm123 is also working.
Thanks again for your great work.

Hi Mike, can you please let me know the model of the Lenovo docking station that you are using? If it is not much to ask, can you please take a pci.exe report without the dock and with the dock to notice the difference, so I can add it to the OS2World wiki?

Hi Martin,

I am using the Thinkpad Pro Dock 90W. Please see attached picture for the type plate.

Kindly note that I have the USB3 feature of the X250 disabled, due to problems with the AN USB drivers. Even if only USB2 is enabled I need Lars Erdmann's drivers to use my external keyboard and mouse.

Greetings,
Mike

Apparently there might be differences between 12.07 and 12.08, regarding the messages from others. For some, 12.08 finally works, others get traps. I guess you have tested both versions?

I have the same dock. It does not work well with Arca Noae USB. If you must use Arca Noae USB with this dock, set USB to Auto in the X250 BIOS and use USB 3.0. Even then I need to unplug and replug the keyboard and/or mouse to get it to work. Before 12.08, it didn't really work at all. Once in 50 times, it traps. If you get a trap screen for this Dock, post it here or open a ticket at Arca Noae.

Yes, I try always newest from AN to see if it is finally working. The AN drivers are okay as long as I only use the laptop with he track point and the internal keyboard. But having the laptop placed into the docking station I'd like to use my external mouse and keyboard. This configuration works only with Lars' drivers. The AN became even worse over time. In the beginning it helped to unplug the keyboard and plug it in again. With the latest two releases even this work around is not working any longer.

Greetings,
Mike

Hi,

I reported an issu on my desktop PC about usb keyboard/mouse not enabled after power off from windows and then boot into ArcaOS. To resolve it, I had to boot, go into bios and do an exit reboot and then, it went ok.
It was told me been an HW issue
(despite linux not windows have this kind of problem)

Your problem seems to be different but may be you can give it a try to go into the bios, and then exit reboot to check usb kb and mouse is available then.

Regards

Lars

Why would he if it works with my drivers ?
Seriously, it is not the HW, it is the USB drivers failing and there are many error conditions.
It surely can be fixed and I spent months chasing these problems, they mostly are due to USB devices not behaving the way you would expect.

It is completely absurd that people are complaining about Windows reliability but accept about any odd workaround for OS/2.

If you switch to using OS/2 in a virtual machine, you can get rid of that problem anyway: use USB 2.x. The performance gain of USB 3.x is non existent anyways (with the OS/2 drivers at least). And for simple devices as keyboards, mice and even video/audio devices, USB 2.x will do the job just fine.
Using a virtual machine will also get rid of the problem of NVM, new network HW bla bla bla.
