Hi Dave,

does sound still work after suspend and resume? Can you play for example *.wav files after resume?

Regards
Holger

Yes, once the system wakes up, which takes a  few seconds.
What machine are you using?

Hi Dave,

I have a x61 here, which caused a lot of problems in the last months. But right now I have a completely new installation of AN (the second released version). I run this with acpi 3.23.04 because this version allows suspend and resume to work, all newer versions do not, all newer versions of AN neither off course. The strange thing is that when I use the original uniaud supplied with AN I can suspend and resume and sound works after resume. With the new builds sound is much better, I even do not need any unimix line in config.sys to have sound enabled, but after resume sound no longer works, neither when clicking a file or for example with PM123.Not a big deal, I just wondered if someone else has the same problems.

Regards
Holger

Are you able to send me the output of 'testlog uniaud' ? I'm curious what hardware you have. There were a LOT of changes in the most recent uniaud updates in AN, I'm not terribly surprised suspend/resume doesn't work. There were a lot of power related api's added in newer linux kernels, many of them I stubbed just to get things building.

@DaveYeo are you able to do the same on your T42? I'm assuming the T42 may still be AC97 hardware whereas the x61 will be HDA..

5.12.19: https://smedley.id.au/tmp/uniaud32-linux-5.12.19-20210814.zip

Hi
I tested the release version with ArcaOS 5.0.6 VM guest on VBox 6.1.26 (Windows 10 host).
- VM ICH AC97: It stopped working. No Audio, no traps.
- VM Intel HD Audio:  It also stopped working. No Audio, no traps.
If I run a .wav on the desktop it will quickly close, it will not sound and will not show the counter on the bottom, which I think it means it does not even try to playback.

uniaud32-linux-5.11.22-20210814.zip  is also not working, the same as 5.12.19

I returned to version "5.10.40" and "5.10.50" and sound is back.

Regards

 Paul,

My experience is the same as Martin's with both versions (release and debug)- it seems to load fine, PMUniMix works, but no sound. Also can't play any WAV or MP3 file. Alsahlp$ attached...

Paul,

Now we're talking - or I can hear it! 5.13 is making sounds here and seems to work well - thanks again, you're aces...

There's no logic in 5.13 working when 5.11 and 5.12 didn't - but I'll take it :)

I only tested these builds in Virtualbox - I often don't get sound in Virtualbox so I wasn't concerned about not getting sound.

I'll try and do some testing locally with real hardware ASAP.

Cheers,

Paul

5.13.10: https://smedley.id.au/tmp/uniaud32-linux-5.13.10-20210815.zip
Hi
I tested it with ArcaOS 5.0.6 VM guest on VBox 6.1.26 (Windows 10 host).
- VM ICH AC97: Works, Audio control working, no traps. It sounds, but sometimes the volume control goes to the max when I double click from one wav to another.
- VM Intel HD Audio: Works, Audio control working, no traps. But the sound it is lower than "AC97".  If I set the volume to 40%, I can not hear it at all.

Any chances of logs from a 'good' build and from the latest?

Cheers,
