Hi Mark,

Tried 5.15.65 20220910b on Hyperfire and exactly the same as 10 in the previous builds. (no sound - 10 sound sections reported under PMUnimix)

Generated a Testlog and skimmed it - the sections we discussed previously are still exactly the same

Small change in <<link removed cos it traps>> It seems that for HDA Generic, it wants to load a codec via a module. We don't support modules, so it doesn't try and load the code - but the necessary object files are in the binary, so I've tried to workaound this...

Cheers,

Paul

Paul,

 20220910b works fine, but I get a trap with 20220911 too...

Sorry about that, of course it didn't trap here in Virtualbox - unfortunately I didn't test it on bare metal. Are your systems AMD or Intel?

Cheers,

Paul.

Hey Eugene,

My system are all Intel. The sound card is a Creative Recon.

Interesting - are you able to provide a 'testlog uniaud' for this system?

Cheers,

Paul.

Busy Sunday - just writing this before I retire to bedlam.

Tried UniAud32 20220911 on both bare metal AMD machines and got the trap both David and Eugene reported. So not much to report.

If your looking for other bare metal machines to test on I have 4 towers and multiple portables, some legacy.

Best!

Heh Eugene!

My system are all Intel. The sound card is a Creative Recon.

Have you ever got Paul's UniAud32"s to work on your system?

In one of my systems I also have a Creative Recon3D / Z Series Card installed - however it only works on Windows, so I was curious as to whether sound worked for you - testing it with the latest drivers, I only get 5 sound volume sections in PMUnimix, and no sound.

Best!

On some systems, in the past, we've seen that the sound is actually working but is extremely quiet.
Two changes I would recommend to the mmpm.ini until you get sound, to make sure it is just not really really low:

mastervolume=77   to   mastervolume=100
and
PARMSTRING=BALANCE=50,VOL=80,INPUT=LINE,GAIN=70,OUTPUT=SPEAKER
to
PARMSTRING=BALANCE=50,VOL=100,INPUT=LINE,GAIN=70,OUTPUT=SPEAKER

I could but not with that driver installed. If you want a baseline with say the default drive or one of the working drivers yes I can and wil do so tomorrow.
Yeah , sorry, I meant baseline with a recent working driver. I'll see if I can reproduce the trap on my T470S, and also workaround it.

Hey all,
Sorry about that, of course it didn't trap here in Virtualbox - unfortunately I didn't test it on bare metal. Are your systems AMD or Intel?

Well clearly I was either very tired or had drunk too much red wine yesterday. I'm embarassed to say that when I fired up the laptop after work today, my ArcaOS test partition was sat there with a Trap screen on it - so turns out I should have known it was going to fail for others :(

Sorry for the hassles, and I'll have another look at the code.

Cheers,

Paul
