USB 3 - ArcaOS - Hardware Reports
« on: June 12, 2020, 02:07:13 pm »
Hi

Since ArcaOS 5.0.5 was released with USB 3 support, I would like to update the reported hardware lists on the OS2World wiki.

Please let me know if you hardware is on the OS2World wiki, or if you have any new hardware you want to report with ArcaOS 5.0.5.

Here are the links:
- Laptops/Notebooks
- Desktop
- Motherboards

Just post your feedback here, or contact me directly.

Hi Martin,

the new xHCD USB3 driver is working on my TP X250. However I experienced performance issues with my mouse, when using the X250 in the docking station.

Greetings from Potsdam/Germany,
Mike

Hi Martin,

the usbxhcd driver works well on a thinkpad w520 laptop, with Arca kernel. But with os4 kernel the complete usb stack 12.5 and 12.6 will not work anymore. You see none of the usb devices with this versions; version 12.4 works well with the os4 kernel

best regards
Bernhard

Hi Martin,

You can update the MSI A320M Pro-VD Plus to all the USB 3 ports and the USB 2 ports that hang off the USB 3 controller and the VIA USB 2 ports are now working.    Not sure about speed though.

My  ASUS Prime B350M-A and Prime A320M-K also have all the USB 3 and USB 2 ports working.  Again not sure about speed.

Regarding speed of the USB 3 ports.  I don't have any USB 3 sticks to test with but my CH-326U3S SATA Hard disk dock (USB 3 with USB 3 hub) does move files to/from the HD faster.

Hi Martin,
The sound on the stack is crumpled. The problem is manifested if loaded more than one processor. The problem is present in all stacks of version 12.x.

Thanks for the feedback, I had updated what I can on the wiki.

Mike K: I had included on the X250 page your report about USB 3.x. I will appreciate if you can post the pci.exe report with the USB 3x turned on inside the BIOS (like it is right now).

Bernhard: I dont have the thinkpad w520 reported on the OS2World wiki. I will create a page for it. Can you please provide me the Hardware Report from pci.exe of your machine (lsusb is also welcome).

Ivan: I updated MSI A320M Pro-VD Plus. Did you got some time to also test the audio of this mainboard?

Ivan: ASUS Prime B350M-A, also updated with USB 3.x.

Ivan: I don't have the Asus Prime A320M-K reported. I will create a page for it. Can you please share the pci.exe report?

Matt: I just updated the wiki page to reflect USB correctly. It was only to change the icon is just changing "image:nope.gif" to "image:Check.gif" on the table line.

Igor: If the USB sound driver got broken it would be good to validate it a little bit with other users (device, HardwareID, driver versions) and open a ticket to Arca Noae. Just let's not confuse things with Lars' USB Drivers, or specify in detail the combination of drivers not working.

Thanks to all for your help.

Hi Martin,
The sound on the stack is crumpled. The problem is manifested if loaded more than one processor. The problem is present in all stacks of version 12.x.

The USB audio, that gets installed, is the older AN version, that doesn't work (well, it makes noise). Use E:\CID\SERVER\ARCAPKG\USBAUD2.WPI (E: is the drive where you mount the installer ISO, or DVD), and it will probably work.

Hi Martin,
I use TI PCM2704.
Lars drivers work great with this hardware and in any configuration.
The error occurs when installing the 12.x kit from Arca. At the moment, I checked version 12.06 and
audio driver from version 12.06. I see a problem in the fact that USB 12.x drivers do not work correctly in a multiprocessor system.
If there is 1 processor in the system (either only one is present, or the rest are not loaded or stopped) - everything works
correctly.

Thanks for the feedback, I had updated what I can on the wiki.

Mike K: I had included on the X250 page your report about USB 3.x. I will appreciate if you can post the pci.exe report with the USB 3x turned on inside the BIOS (like it is right now).

Hi Martin

Please find attached the requested report.

By the way. The mouse is running smooth with xHDC, when the X250 is out of the docking station

Greetings,
Mike

Thanks Bernhard.

I just updated the page. "Lenovo Thinkpad W520"

Just as a little note, you seems to have your "pcidevs.txt" outdated, that is why the PCI.EXE report gives you some many unknown. But your report was good for me since I was able to search for the devices and find its name.

I'm attaching an updated "pcidevs.txt", it can be fun also if you can generate the report without dock and also with the dock to see the difference :)
